@aalavanthan1985 agreed. and indian audience isn't really doing much to get out of the romantic type of movies scenario. which is why movies with an actual good theme and story end up being a flop.

shahrukh's once in a lifetime performance..awesome direction by mani ratnam.manisha's finest performance...probably the best music to have ever come out of rahman.shekhar kapur & ram gopal verma's production.and one of the best scripts ever.lata, sukhwinder, udit, sonu's mesmerising voice. wat else do need ..ITS A CULT FILM!!

@indiansarecheap1 you have rightly said about STARVING KID but why are u forgetting that we were ruled by foreigners for about 200 years. They extracted all our wealth left us in poor condition. we are trying to get out of it but it will take time.

I don't know your age but if u are in 30's ,then u will definitely going to see India becoming Superpower and we will rule entire planet
just wait n watch`

aalavanthan1985) i agree to ur views becoz we have to watch some serious movies based on real facts and figures but we r used to watch comedy movies every time which only have punch lines but no real data is there ...

The movie is a benchmark in Indian cinema. It showed where we are best at. Showing love stories and scintillating music. Best director and best musician gave their best, but was not liked by the rest.

MrsPoopBunny on Monday, January 31, 2011

the first and only role that Shahrukh played that wasn't a role for 'the great Khan' now his ego and him have to have separate seats.. :P

bossfight85 on Tuesday, February 22, 2011
If the Western ears were trained enough like ours, they would've given all of A.R Rahmans songs from the 90s Grammys and Academy Awards. But no, a mediocre song for Rahmans standards "Jai Ho" gets one. Its not like they didn't get to notice them at all. Lagaan was nominated for it years ago and had amazing tracks. I call it a symptom of Bieber fever.

lozoft9 on Wednesday, February 23, 2011
@aalavanthan1985 I wholly agree. I don't know why people are drawn to movies like Race (or Transformers here in the states). They're all the same and when a truly remarkable film is produced people don't recognize it. It should have gotten an Academy but they hardly ever recognize bollywood in the foreign film category. I think in Dil Se's case it was the ending that everyone hated while people that got it found it to be quite beautiful.

soyabmd on Wednesday, February 23, 2011
i watched this movie about 30 times.i like it toooooooooooo much.specially the songs are remarkable.
