Shie14 The world's a big enough place and there's enough space for all
kinds of opinions, even the one voiced by you below. And why not? Rajesh
deserves his place under the sun for having done one Amar Prem and giving
screen life to a thousand immortal Kishore songs.

Rajesh has his own place in Indian cinema and so does Amitabh and Dilip
Kumar and other icons of the silver screen. Each of them brought something
unique to the screen, they struck certain chords int he hearts of the
public and this has made them immortal and they will always be remembered.

Guys this is not a comparision between Amitabhji or Rajeshji or any actor. This is about fantastic lyrics which aptly suit the context in the movie and beautiful singing with quality music. So let us talk about that, instead of discussion who is the best.

setraj999 on Monday, May 19, 2008

there will never be another r.d. burman, kishore kumar. the two greats of bengal. there will also never be another tara shonkor bondopadhay, the great bengali author who wrote the novel, nishipoddo, on which amar prem is based.

RisingEdge111 on Sunday, June 22, 2008
Truly,a great rendition from Kishore. One of my favorite all time songs.

lovely lyrics of this song were written by sheilender. javed akhter sahib
in one of his interview said when he heard this song he told sheilender to
give him the pen with which he had written this song ,so that he could
write such beautiful songs

now its a confession here...i spent more time listening rock, hip
hop, blues, country etc etc.but it jst takes 1 mouse click in these songs to
remind myself that yes i love "THESE" songs and the rest i just pretend.

bharatiyan on Friday, July 18, 2008
i love this film very much. i think rajesh khanna was the real romantic icon of india.khanna was great in his all movies, be it aradhana(1969),amarprem,anand(1971) or namak haaram. if amitabh bachchan phenomenon didn't took place, khanna would be our only mega star.

IBrutus on Sunday, July 20, 2008
I guess these songs are in our blood... there is no denying them! :-)

mutinyvizier on Monday, July 21, 2008
Yes IBrutus, that is the correct phrase - "they are in our blood!" - they
have been imprinted into the consciousness of our indian identity

junaid hameed Samo on Tuesday, September 09, 2008

incident of pen is true as i personally saw javed sahib tell that in
CHITERHAAR as he revealed his fav songs

Dr Sridhar Saxena on Thursday, September 11, 2008
Dear Sir Ya You are right. Late Anand bakshi Ji wrote many outstanding

we search for god in all kinds of forms and here he is in his voice...

tukai79 on Friday, November 07, 2008
Ufff!!

What a rich baritone Kishore Kumar had and that melody!

You practice for years to get anywhere close to those vocals and this genius had it by birth!!

Someone asked for the translation. It basically means,

"People would always say something, their job is to say things about others, let us not waste this beautiful night talking of these useless things".

One good line is,

Tu kaun hai tera naam hai kya, Sita bhi yahan badnaam hui...

PAPPUAGT on Saturday, November 08, 2008
The Lyrics R very True N apt 4r our Society

One stanza translated:

it is somehow a tradition, that every morning becomes evening.
Who are you to feel bad, when people can speak ill of the saints and gods?

Cheers
