Rafi sahab is unparallel, unmatches...the saxaphone in the music was played
by Ismail Durbar's father,

this song makes me weep

loomba2079 on Wednesday, July 23, 2008
One of the best saxaphone accompanying in a bollywood song .. This is one classic ... and the player is the father of the music director Ismail Darbar.

U have to listen to this to get the real feel of this great musician playing the SAX.

god bless his soul

Inatsikap on Tuesday, July 29, 2008

wht the hell??? ur makin comments abt the dumb saxafone and ignoring the FACT tht its Rafi saabs amazingly immortal voice tht brings songs to life n makes the hits they are!!!!
GIV CREDIT WHERE ITS DUE PPL!!!

smodass on Saturday, October 25, 2008
Please also give credit to Omkar Prasad Nayyar (O P Nayyar) who composed
and orchestrated this song. In a song everything must fit together, the
saxophone, the singer, the other musicians, the arrangement of the song,
music and melody. All this is the responsibility of the music director.
Ofcourse, without Rafi this song would not be the same.

smod
wht u say is true to a point, but do remember there have been countless gr8 musicians, directors etc but there was and will ever be one Rafi saab.

smodass on Saturday, October 25, 2008
The film music directors of the 50s, 60s & 70s were the best, and I doubt
there will ever be music directors like them again. They have created music
that will be heard hundreds of years from now. Not only songs by Rafi, but
also Lata, Mukesh, Kishore, Manna Dey, etc. And ofcourse Rafi is one of the
best among the best.

oldisbest on Saturday, October 25, 2008
well smod, thts ur personal opinion, thers were great music directors in the 80s and 90s and even now theres a couple of realy good music directors but there has never even been any1 close to Rafi sab n thts not my personal opinion, its the opinion of those who know wht they're doing, ie profesionals of the music industry. Wen Rafi saab was at his peak, there were other singers ie mukesh etc but time and time again, film producers, music directors only wanted Rafi saab,n tht my freind says it all!!

Dilip S. Coulagi on Saturday, October 25, 2008
Rafi's singing is the tops, but you have to acknowledge the contribution of
the instrument players - one of the reasons for the quality of OPN's music
was that his instrumentalists were the best in the country, who later
became famous musicians in their own rights: Pt. Ramnarayan on Sarangi,
Ustad Rais Khan on Sitar, Pt. Shivkumar Sharma on Santoor and many others.
The diamond of Rafi's voice certainly is the sweetest in this setting...

oldisbest on Saturday, October 25, 2008
i do acknowledge this fact but after all said and done its Rafi saab whos songs are on top even years and years after he sadly passed away. Yes no doubt the musicians of tht time were also the best but had this song been sung by, lets say mukesh, it wudnt have been half as good or remembered to this day, so like you yourself said Rafi saab's voice is the shining diamond in this setting and in every song.
just my 2 cents!

Calhyde a on Saturday, October 25, 2008
smdass, infact O P Nayyar sahab gave some of the best songs sung by Rafi
sahab, for instance 'phir milo gey kabhi iss batah ka waada karlo' and
countable others

credit is due to all involved in making this song from the great mohd. rafi
sahib to lyricist to composer instruments e.t.c e.t.c

BlueNargis on Sunday, January 04, 2009
No it was Laxmikant who plays the saxaphone, he was an assistant to Op at that time.

BlueNargis on Sunday, January 04, 2009
It was the entire team that should get the credit... simple...

loomba2079 on Saturday, January 10, 2009
no BlueNargis this was not played by Laxmikant, this saxaphone piece was played by a great session musician "Husain (father of Ismail Darbar)" a master of saxaphone and clarinet.
