Lyrics / Video of Song : Yaad Aa Raha Hai, Tera Pyar Kahan Hum Kahan Tum Aa Bhi Aa Bhi Ja Ek Bar

yaad aa raha hai tera pyar
yaad aa raha hai tera pyar
kaha hum kaha tum, huye tum kaha gum
aa bhi ja aa bhi ja ek bar
oo yaad aa raha hai tera pyar
kaha hum kaha tum, huye tum kaha gum
aa bhi ja aa bhi ja ek bar
oo ho yaad aa raha hai tera pyar

yaro mai to yaha jita raha
sare gam dil ke bhula ke
de ke tumhe sari khushi maine
maine yaha kuch bhi to paya
nahi sab kuch pake
mujhko mili kya zindagi
oo ho yaad aa raha hai tera pyar
kaha hum kaha tum, huye tum kaha gum
aa bhi ja aa bhi ja ek bar
oo ho yaad aa raha hai tera pyar

aye dil mai wohi tu wohi
wohi hai ye duniya ke mele
bichhde wo din jane kaha
ruthe sab yaha jane kaha
rah gaye hum to akele
aawaj de kis ko yaha
oo ho yaad aa raha hai tera pyar
kaha hum kaha tum, huye tum kaha gum
aa bhi ja aa bhi ja ek bar
oo ho yaad aa raha hai tera pyar

wada, wada raha sathi mere
tere liye gata chala jau
tu mera dil tu meri jaa
jina, jina mera jina yahi
tere liye zindagi lutau
tu jo nahi kya hai yaha
oo ho yaad aa raha hai tera pyar
kaha hum kaha tum, huye tum kaha gum
aa bhi ja aa bhi ja ek bar
oo yaad aa raha hai tera pyar

Bappi-da's Music makes anybody dance. Pioneer of western music in India. Nayagam. worthwebwaydotcom.

All over the world! 80s was the best decade for music regardless of which tongue.

Bappi has done his fair share of plagiarizing, but that doesn't mean everything he does is plagiarized. In fact, some of his original tracks are today often sampled by hip-hop artists around the world (for example, "Come Closer"). However, "Yaad Aa Raha Hai" is easily one of the best tracks Bappi has ever produced. I've listened to countless disco tracks, and nothing else comes close, besides maybe the 1982 proto-acid house album "Ten Ragas to a Disco Beat", partly influenced by this song.

Ironically, many Indians don't know about Biddu's disco records of the 70s. While Biddu did later become a popular Indi-pop producer in the 80s-90s, his 70s Western disco songs like "Kung Fu Fighting" were barely known in India. Not only did Biddu help pioneer disco in the early 70s, but he was also responsible for introducing it to India in the late 70s... yet it's Bappi Lahiri who often gets hailed as India's "disco king", when in reality it's Biddu who deserves that honour.

Personally, I think it's good that India has its own home-grown music industry. I find it quite annoying how the music charts in most countries around the world are dominated by English-language acts (mainly American, and to a lesser extent, British). India is one of the few countries where its music charts are dominated by local home-grown talent rather than foreign English-language acts. More countries need to support their own local home-grown talent like India does.

Here's the ones I know of: Planet Asia, Dabrye, AG, Kutmasta Kurt, Create & Devastate, Masta Ace, Stricklin, Club Dogo, Edu Kehäkettunen, Stig Dogg, Onra, Guts. And that's already a dozen different artists who sampled "Come Closer" (composed by Bappi Lahiri and performed by Salma Agha in 1984) from Kasam Paida Karne Wale Ki. Bappi cover/sampled plenty of other artists, but plenty of other artists have also covered/sampled him as well. It works both ways.

Indians knew about Jimi Hendrix since the late 60s. In fact, it was Jimi Hendrix who inspired a certain Indian boy to become one of the biggest rock stars of all time... of course I'm referring to none other than Queen's Freddie Mercury. As for Disco Dancer (from 1982, not 1984), much of the movie is a homage to American pop culture. The whole Jimmy name + electric guitar (albeit wireless) combo is clearly a homage to Jimi Hendrix.

An excellent review over disco songs from jagged85.Actually it is Biddu who brought disco to india. But Bappida did 100's of them at a stretch.May be that is the reason he is being hailed as disco king of India. Most of the disco song composed by Bappida have become run away hits. For example disco dancer songs were popular in China,Russia,Srilanka,Turkey and many other countries.Bappida even got an award for the same from China.
