@cvilized Unfortunately I cannot trace the page where you made query on my comments on Shyam and his children. Sahira Kazmi's parentage was kept a closely guarded secret for obvious reasons. It was in late sixties or seventies when she became famous TV actress and later producer/director that information started trickling about her origins. She was of course born in mid 1940's and had a younger brother. About Jameel and his children Faraz or Tabbu, it is not in my knowledge.

Hello Mirza Sahib and thank you. Penned by Shakeel Badayuni, a lovely melody by Naushad. If one was to take the top duets from 1940's, the list would start and end with Naushad: 1) Awaaz de kahan hai Anmol Ghadi 2) Main bhanwara tu hai phool Mela 3) Khabar kya thi ke gham khana padega Chandi Raat 4) Tu mera chand main teri chandni Dillagi Thank you.

@prashid43 zalim zamana mujh ko tum se chhura raha hai a duet with Surraiya was sung by Shyam Kumar and not by Rafi. If you want to see Shyam Kumar as villain, watch1949 film Dulari in which he plays the role of Jaggu. The hero is Suresh and heroine Madhubala with Geeta Bali in supporting role.

Shyam was regarded as one of the most good-looking leading men of Hindi cinema by old timers. Hindi cinema historians are certain that if not for his untimely death when he fell off a horse while shooting for Shabistan (1951), the face of Hindi cinema in the 1950s would have been very different, as at the time, Shyam was as big a star as the Trimurti that would rule Hindi cinema in the 50s - Dilip Kumar, Dev Anand and Raj Kapoor.

You are my moon and I am your moonlight I am your song and you are my Music To fell in love is not hilarious To live and die together is a tradition of love The flute of (our) love is always singing the song of your attraction to me Do not forget this lovely season, these days and nights As long as these stars and moon shine, our ways are not separated

Dillagi means something close to infatuation+flirtation-- distinguished from dil ka lagana, which is closer to the English expression" to love." So the line " Nahin dil ka lagaana koi dillagi" means "loving someone can not be as superficial or cavalier as flirting."

Mirzaji, once again, a million thanks. I heard this song early this year on another channel after 60 years( give or take), but your post comes with a video clip. What a gift to men like me who were kids in 1948!
