Lyrics of Tera Mujhse Hai Pehle Ka Nata Koi (Duet) - मेरा तुझ से है पहले का नाता कोई

tera mujhase hai pehle kaa nata koi
yu hee nahee dil lubhata koi
tera mujhase hai pehle kaa nata koi
yu hee nahee dil lubhata koi
jane too ya jane naa, mane too ya mane naa
meraa tujhase hai pehle kaa nata koi
yu hee nahee dil lubhata koi

dekho abhee khona nahee, kabhee juda hona nahee
abb khel me yu hee rahenge ham dono
vada raha yeh iss sham kaa
tera mujhase hai pehle kaa nata koi
yu hee nahee dil lubhata koi
jane too ya jane naa, mane too ya mane naa
tera mujhase hai pehle kaa nata koi
yu hee nahee dil lubhata koi
tera mujhase hai pehle kaa nata koi
yu hee nahee dil lubhata koi

The thing is, plagiarism is rife within Bollywood music scene - going back to the 1940's. I think its fine - but have the courtesy to give credit to the original composer - and pay the royalties necessary - it's not much to pay actually. This gives recognition to the original composer which is more important than the money in a lot of cases. Finally we have to ask why the need to copy? RD, ShankerJaikshan, Lax.Pyrelal, Kal.Anandji etc are all talented enough without resorting to copying.

Ha!Ha! You're right - I don't speak Hindi or Urdu...but I do SING in Hindi. Also, as a composer I understand fully that it's no different to someone pinching, say, your prize rose and entering it in a competition and winning a prize with it. Or making a film of your idea and making money out of it. Would you think that acceptable? I'm sure you'd not worry about the benefits to mankind if it was YOUR idea that was pinched. Wrong is wrong whichever way you look at it.

This song DOES NOT sound exactly like Yellow Rose of Texas, the U.S Folk song , popularized by ELVIS. There are similarities, but there also important differences. And Please, don't call RDBurman "thief". A little copying is VERY different from stealing. Good DJs also mix copied music. That's also a skill. RDB gave us happiness with the song, appreciate that and don't be unhappy just because he copied some parts. Remember, Elvis also copied this folk song.

Totally irreleant as to the quantity pinched. If YOU were a composer and someone stole a basic theme you created without acknowledgement or payment you would not be happy I'm sure. As to Mercedes /Tat etc - well two wrongs don't make a right. There are avenues to pay people royalties if using someone else's stuff - we all have to survive and its only fair that we pay for it - especially as he was no doubt RD was paid quite well for his composing in films.

The music could be plagarized from some corner of the world, but those who do not understand Hindi will probably never understand how deep the lyrics of the songs of those years were. In that the songs that they were plagarized will never come near to touching them. The magic of those years lies in the poets and the voice of Kishore, Rafi, Lata and Mukesh, not merely in the 'lifted' music.

song had two versions. The grown up version was sung by Kishore Kumar and it was picturised on Shashi Kapoor and Sharmila Tagore as a nature song -as it was picturised on hills. The other version of the song was a party song and it had a kid singing in addition to Kishore Kumar. Kishore Kumar once again sings for Shashi Kapoor whereas the kid Sushma Shreshtha sang for Master Tito

I never called it that. This song not only sounds better than Elvis's YRoT, it also sounds DIFFERENT. There are similarlities in the mukhda, but many differences too and FAR from being a "copy". The antara is entirely different. R.D.B was indeed a genius! And folk songs don't have copyrights anyway. Elvis did not make YRoT, it is a folk song.

It is true sometimes we meet someone with whom we are having Karmic connection. And it is also true that sometimes the other does not feel strongly as we can feel for him. This is indeed a very beautiful song which connects us with the feeling of past lives. Thanks sarkasticgenius for this amazing upload.
