Lyrics of Suhani Raat Dhal Chuki Na Jane Tum Kab -

(suhaani raat dhal chuki
naa jaane tum kab aaoge ) - 2
jahaa ki rut badal chuki a a a
naa jaane tum kab aaoge

nazaare a a a apani mastiyaa
dikhaa dikhaa ke so gaye
sitaare a a a apani raushani
lutaa lutaa ke so gaye
har ek shammaa jal chuki
naa jaane tum kab aaoge
suhaani raat dhal chuki

tadap rahe hai ham yahaa - 2
tumhaare itazaar me - 2
(khizaa kaa rag, aa chalaa hai
mausam-e-bahaar me ) - 2
mausam-e-bahaar me
havaa bhi rukh badal chuki a a a
naa jaane tum kab aaoge

suhaani raat dhal chuki
naa jaane tum kab aaoge

Pleasant night has passed by Don’t know when you will come The season of the world has changed Don’t know when you will come Tired of showing the beauties, The scenes have dozed off. Casting their lights over and over, the stars have reclined. Every candle is burnt off Don’t know when you will come Pleasant night has passed by Here, I am pining While waiting for you (खिज़ा का रंग, आ चला है मौसम-ए-बहार में ) The colour of autumn has set In the season of spring. In the season of spring. The wind has changed its direction Don’t know when you will come Pleasant night has passed by Don’t know when you will come

THE SONG IN ENGLISH (Lyricist: SHAKEEL BADAYUNI) The pleasant night has waned! Don’t know when you will come! (Twice) The season of the world has changed! Don’t know when you will come! The pleasant night has waned! Don’t know when you will come! (All) the sceneries (around here), after throwing away their intoxicating beauty (freely at everyone), have fallen into slumber! The stars, after relentlessly showing their light, have (also) fallen into slumber! Every candle has burnt itself (to extinction)! Don’t know when you will come! The pleasant night has waned! Don’t know when you will come! I am writhing here in the pain while waiting for you! The hue of autumn is coming over the season of blossoms! The wind has also changed its course! Don’t know when you will come! The pleasant night has waned! Don’t know when you will come!

Yes, Nasrat, I was indeed a literature student, English and French, in fact. But, when I post comments it's more a spontaneous joyful or sad reaction from my heart to my appreciation and more than often my personal perspective of the song and situation it's pictured in. Am not surprised you felt the same way, for there's a hidden romantic in each one us, it's but natural, but some feel it needs to stay eclipsed in real life to adhere to the ridiculous social facade expected these days. Best!

The hauntingly sweet voice of a longing heart lost in love! Mohammad Rafi had that emotive power in his voice that brought life to the actors' heart in the storyline . while taking the listener into his/her own romantic dreamworld with ease. :) Beautiful. Thanks for this gem. Best Always. Ritu from California, USA
