V. Siddhartha on Sunday, July 12, 2009 This movie was a true tribute to classical dances and music-- one of the
best ever. Sandhya and Gopinath gave superb dances in the movie and Lataji
made Sandhya shine even more with her delicate, subtlety-filled classical
singing that you note. Thanks, Khalid Bhai, for the forward. I have
commented on this film's songs on other channels too.
aarenya on Thursday, June 28, 2012 Beautiful rendition in Raag Des .I was a child when this movie was
produced. Since 1955 , I must have seen it 20 times till date . Despite the
over stylized theatrical acting so typical of V. Shantaram's direction ,
the music and pure dance forms have made this movie memorable . There never
was and never will be another film like this.
