biography on the film's director Vijay Anand - "Ek Hota Goldie," by Anita
Padhye states that Anand and the film's financier Tolaram Jalan had
different goals. Jalan wanted to produce a flop film to adjust his income
taxes and signed the biggest names of the 1960's - stars Dev Anand, Asha

paying cast and crew, took the film and released it in a single matinée
show and then pulled the film. Vijay Anand was pained by this experience,
