Lyrics / Video of Song : Jaane Wali Dulhan Khushi Khushi Jaana

jane wali dulhan, khushi khushi jana
lekin itna sa naata, jake nibhana
hum dukhiyo ko, bhul jana na
bhul na jana
ro rahe babul, ro rahi mayi
ro rahi mayi
is jag me beti hai, daulat parayi
daulat parayi
in bichdo ko, bisrana na
bhul na jana
jane wali dulhan, khushi khushi jana
lekin itna sa naata, jake nibhana
hum dukhiyo ko, bhul jana na
bhul na jana

jane kab milogi hamse, aao vida ho le
aao vida ho le
aao ek baar bahna, gale mil ke ro le
gale mil ke ro le
jindagi ka koi hai thikana na
bhul na jana
jane wali dulhan, khushi khushi jana
lekin itna sa naata, jake nibhana
hum dukhiyo ko, bhul jana na
bhul na jana

jao ri suhagan tirth karne
tirth karne
pati sang jeene aur, pati sang marne
pati sang marne
dukh me kabhi bhi ghabrana na
bhul na jana
jane wali dulhan, khushi khushi jana
lekin itna sa naata, jake nibhana
hum dukhiyo ko bhul jana na
bhul na jana

Dear sumaiya 999 At the end of the day we should love and respect everyone. Indian culture taught us to respect everything living they even worship trees and not to hurt anyone. No matter where one is from, Indian traditionally showed respect to everyone. Indian heart is a very big one, almost every single race come and go from India. In the end all got absorbed in great civilization. India did not send even one soldier and won the heart with Budhism China, Japan, Korea.. the list goes on.

@Vina410 I know the history, but I stand by my statement. Guyanese people are Guyanese. You're "Indian" by DNA and your culture, traditions, etc. are from India, but *nationally* you aren't Indian and haven't been for generations. If you do speak Hindi, are one of the SCARCE few Indo-Caribbeans that does...and even if you do, I doubt it's the same as the Bhojpuri/Avadhi Hindi dialects of your ancestors...because even that isn't spoken in India today the way it was when your ancestors left.

Dear Sumaiya: let me tell you a story it happened to me about 35 years back in one big city in North America. I was very new and there were not very many brown people in this city at that time. Goras were not very helpful I was lost and trying to find my way around. My eyes lit up when I saw two brown guys Are you from India, I asked ? Prompt came the reply, No we are Trini and kept on walking and all I could hear they said they are not Indians. That was my interaction with Trini sa,

Dear Sumaiya999. In the last four decades I worked /or had some interaction with people from Trinidad and Guyana. No doubt they will remain Indian race even after 1000 years in these countries. I beg to say since their forefathers left India about 100 or more years ago, with time and western influence Indian culture diluted with time. Most of them I found are/were pick and choose, most of time they will associate with Goras and when they see fit will claim their Indian heritage.

@Vina410 Wow. The name 'Sharma' is UNDENIABLY Punjabi. LOL I like "pure" Urdu and Hindi. I really wouldn't call either of those languages pure, but I understand your point. Again, you're a scarce few. Much respect to you and your family for maintaining your culture. The only point I'm trying to make is that Indo-Caribbean culture is very distinct from the cultures of India. Like my grandma says, "If looks like a crow, it could still be a raven." :]

No, you're Trinidadian. India. Trinidad & Tobago. Two different nations. Much of Indo-Trinidadian culture can be related/referenced to Indian culture (although Indian culture is extremely varied depending on where you are), it doesn't really "mirror" per se, Indian culture. Like the African descended peoples of Trinidad. Some aspects resemble West African culture, but it is still strikingly different and not synonymous.

Hi There is actually a Trinidadian version of this song. Its not by Rakesh. The CD is a collection of hindi songs from the 40's and 50's. It was all female trini singers. I had the cd when I was a kid but have since lost it. If you are anywhere near Richmond Hill NY, you could check the stores for the cd. It was a very nice cover of the song. We played it at my sister's wedding.

actually we didn't copy the song it's only the beginning of this song that is used in the other version as a comparison of both songs, then switches into a whole lot of other lyrics with the same beat and it's called dulahin chalay sasurai..amazing isn't it ;]

All I did was care about you. I love you so much it was always my sister this and my sister that the thing is you never ever realize how much I actually cared about you but now you have broken my heart and I have nothing else to say.
