a beautiful composition by great Naushad and Gulam Mohammad.. when this song was picturised Late Meena Kumari was not in good health. the director then used another girl with Rajkumar and therefore her face in the song is not shown anywhere. ..how beautifully it is picturised with perfect expression on Rajkumar's face. and all credit to Rajkumar who carried this song so beautifully without Meena Kumari. .i love this movie and songs so much that i have forgot the count how many times i have watched. though its very personal feeling but still sharing...i somehow connect with the feelings of this movie that not even my husband and family understands. its beyond words.

Centuries will pass before another voice of such calibre, elocution and style will be gifted to this planet again. No body could ever reach to their heights. They had complete control in all sorts of variations in singing. A naive pair, they could naturally justify the poetic lyrics and I think the poets created these inspired by their voice as they could imagine their creations just as the composers did, Lata & Rafi Sahib are immortal and their art will be remembered.(1st February 2011)

there are two three songs where Rafi sings only the title words but stanzas are sung by his co-singers. One example is this, Rafi is just beautifully singing chalo dildar chalo and no stanzas. He also does alaap saying o oo also. Then in the song from C.I.D.of Dev Anand, Rafi again only sings Ankhon hi ankhon mein ishara hogaya, this shows his extremely accommodative spirit and sacrificing mind. He would integrate in any manner so that the song ultimately comes out brilliantly well.

No sammy sahab, not that Rafi did not sing bad songs. But yes, he was outstanding those words and music from those rotten songs were bad. Rafi sahab never said no and he is known to have encouraged a lot of new and young music directors and singers. But as regards this song, let us give wholesome tribute to the brilliant composer Ghulam Mohd. saheb a worthy pupil or Naushad sahab.for tbe beautiful composition and great and very simple words by Kaif Bhopali ji. Unforgettable.

Keeper of my heart, let us go beyond this Moon. Yes, I am ready, let us go, and let us leave this world, this Earth. Come, let us go & get lost in these stars. I am drunk, hold me! I am sleepy, please take care of me. Don’t worry my life; our journey will never end, we will continue way beyond these mortal souls can ever do.{This is Urdu, not Hindi, no offense to Hindi speakers}.

One of the most memorable duets of Lata/Rafi. The pregnant pause between the two singers is sui generis. I cannot stop listening to it over and over and over again. The foot stomps, hand drum and you are on to a wonderful journey. Thank yiou for this upload.

Ghulam Mohammad was music director of Pakeeza.Unfortunately he died before the release of this movie. Then Naushad took over charge of the rest of songs which were Kaun gaye le gayo shyam etc.But main HIT songs were composed by Great Gulam Mohammad
