Comments for song "Ulfat Ke Jaam Pila Pila"

Who is the singer ? It is not Suraiya singing.

Bajaury on Thursday, November 19, 2009
Who is the singer? A good question, however, the dancer is wonderful. I
will be more curious about her name. Who is this dancer? She is great.

vijaynarul on Tuesday, January 26, 2010
the singer of this song is classical music singer nirmala devi , mother of today's star govinda .

Hussain Al Sajwani on Wednesday, October 06, 2010
Who was the music director? Ghulam Muhammad?

Vidur Sury on Tuesday, November 16, 2010
@Bajaury The dancer is famous side-actress Roop Mala and the singer is of
course the great Nirmala Devi

Vidur Sury on Tuesday, November 16, 2010
You must have probably heard Nirmala Devi's famous duet with Rafi - Jhoote
Zamane Bhar Ke in Musafir Khana (1955), for Shyama and Karan Dewan

Bajaury on Friday, November 19, 2010
@vidursury Thank you for your info. I did listen to the song in
MusafirKhana. I had not realised that the singer was not Lata. Nirmala has
such a sweat voice, I would say she has a sweater voice then Asha and some
others. I wonder why she did not dominate the singing world? And I of
course Shyama was the most lovely woman on the screen. She was my favorite.
What a sparkle in her eyes?

Vidur Sury on Saturday, November 20, 2010
@Bajaury You are welcome; note that Nirmala Devi sang a lot in 40s also and
had a weighty voice, not preferred much by music directors of the 50s. (But
that is my favourite style, of course :) ) This might be another reason why
you hardly see melody queen Shamshad Begum singing for heroines in the
post-40s. I also like Shyama a lot. See her first song, and the first
female Qawwali in my channel's Zeenat (1945) Playlist; the songs (including
another one) "Aahen Na Bhari", "Sakhi Aaya Sawan"..

Vidur Sury on Saturday, November 20, 2010
@vidursury contd. are some of the best songs of the 40s. In Aahen Na
Bhari she gets playback from melody queens Kalyani, Noor Jehan and Zohrabai
(you can see the last two among the girls!) Hope you like it. Roopmala
appeared also in Udan Khatola, for another example, if you have seen that.

Lot of information is since made available by the learned viewers about the
singer and the dancer. Regards.

Srinivasan Channiga on Saturday, July 14, 2012
Sure I liked the information and comments Mahaleji. Music directors are
Husnlal-Bhagatram.

rumahale on Saturday, July 14, 2012
Thank you Sir for the response and additional information on Music Director.
