I have seen Elvis's movie recently and realized the same song Marguerita has been adopted here. Rafi Saheb sang better than Elvis Presley's Marguerita. Rafi Saheb has beaten Elvis hands down. Rafi Saheb is a legend.

md raffi shab you are great

SamSungSamSung9999 on Saturday, August 21, 2010
@vijayc, the tune may be identical, but the song as a whole is infinitely better than Elvis Presley's Margarita. S-J have managed to take it to another galaxy of achievement altogether.

SamSungSamSung9999 on Saturday, August 21, 2010
@maddy1905, please appreciate that S-J haven't merely copied the song, but improved the original song beyond belief, much as an expert jeweler cuts and polishes a raw diamond and turns into an absolute marvel.

arunkumar0702 on Monday, August 23, 2010
hey this is the same tune as Margarita by elvis prisley.

@gpandhi You may be right that majority of the today's generation would not be aware of this magic, but there are some people in our country who like this kind of love stories and expressions, Innocent love.

I am one of them and I am just 23 years old.

I wish, the India cinema could be like old days.
from Gujarat

gpandhi on Saturday, October 30, 2010

bi11iards on Thursday, November 04, 2010
Oh, the sheer youthfulness of this voice. Never again will we hear this, live. Not in this life or next. Even if God is merciful and kind to the prayers of millions, will He ever be able to recreate it?

everest1965 on Monday, November 15, 2010
People here who are saying "I wish i had a time machine and go back to those golden day. etc" should realize that this is something we call as "NOSTALGIA". Times have changed, tastes have changed, life has moved on.

Although i fully appreciate the melody and lyrics of that era (I grew up with these songs ;) ) but i have nothing against the music of today, its what this generation wants and if we dont like listening to it we can decide not too.

cupidvogel on Tuesday, November 16, 2010
@everest1965 I agree that sometimes people tend to be carried away by nostalgia and neglect the assets of modern culture to effuse about the past. But in this case at least, this holds some water. Because really the present day musical output of Indian movies stands nowhere in quality compared to the days of Kishore-Rafi-Mukesh and Laxmikant-Pyarelal, RD Burman, SD Burman, Madan Mohan and Anand Bakshi, Majrooh Sultanpuri, Gulzar. Not that good singers or music directors are lacking now.

cupidvogel on Tuesday, November 16, 2010
@everest1965 Neither is the allegation true that good songs are not produced these days. But what is true is that most of the songs are trash, the rest forgettable, only a select few implant themselves permanently in our hearts. But these songs are few and far between, in contrast to the 60s-70s, when tons of such songs used to be released. The overall quality of music has degenerated quite a lot and there is no denying this fact. Music will never be the same again.

himsingz on Tuesday, November 23, 2010
India's Elvis Presly - Rafi :)

Many, many tunes have always been lifted from popular western numbers. The original, however, is far better - Marguerita - by Elvis.

simply fantastic; Rafi Sahab rendering an SJ tune with exquisite beauty.

DSHK45 on Sunday, January 02, 2011
@best1212121

Again, go and take your own virginity with your violin bow. Violin is overrated when it comes to difficulty. And yes, this song would be perfect even with just a basic slow drum beat and Rafi's melodious voice. Hell, this song would be great with no instruments.

umamamma on Monday, January 10, 2011
wow, flowing music, just drift along with the song! sheer bliss... only shankar jaikishan could do this... does any new song create this magic??
