fantastic song.

MehakiRockz on Sunday, November 02, 2008
awesome..love it

shirishkumar22 on Sunday, February 15, 2009
pure pleasure... well done to the team who created this lovely number

Ravi Gokhale on Sunday, March 22, 2009
Rafi's greatest hits. Many thanks.

shirishkumar22 on Friday, April 03, 2009
agree in some way but bear in mind that such lovely composition will never fail either, does not matter who sings it.Rafi makes it real special...

786maq on Wednesday, May 13, 2009
Another gem by Rafi saab.

smodass on Tuesday, June 23, 2009
Your point is incorrect. The song "tum bin jaun kahan" from the movie Pyar
Ka Mausam was sung by both Rafi and Kishore . However, it was the Kishore
version that became a big hit, and most poeple do not even know that Rafi
has sung the same song. This is not to diminish Rafi, as I am a huge fan of
his. But adulation of Rafi to the extent of denigrating other singers
somehow seems to indicate that there factors other than Rafi's voice that
some fans of his consider more important.

smodass on Wednesday, June 24, 2009
I am old enough to know that it was the KK version that was played most of
the time on Binaca geet mala, and other radio stations. I am sure you are
not Indian. I think most Rafi fans on YT rave about Rafi because of some
non musical reason. However, it is die hard Rafi fans on YouTube

smodass on Wednesday, June 24, 2009
You have offered no substantiation of your claim other than " I know what I
am talking about" . It is just your opinion, and not fact. As a Rafi fan
you are entitled to your views, but to me it seems your (and many others
here on YT) adulate Rafi more because of non musical reasons. I have never
seen your types make praise of any other singers, even a bit.

smodass on Wednesday, June 24, 2009
I apologise for my harsh tone, but in reality there is more to a song than
just the singer. Main credit should go to the music directors who compose
the song and arrange the musical score for the song. I have seen many a
good compositions sound weak, even with singers like Rafi, KK or Lata, just
because the musical arrangement was below standard.

smodass on Thursday, June 25, 2009
My observation about comments on YT is that most Rafi fans who rave about
him do so because of non singing reasons. I have hundreds and hundreds of
comments to substantiate my claims. Regardless, it is really the music
directors who should get credit as they are the genius behind the song. And
that really is my objection to the comments of die hard Rafi fans. The
singer really just adds feathers to the cap.

smodass on Thursday, June 25, 2009
Correction: I have SEEN hundreds and hundreds of comments to substantiate
my claim.

smodass on Sunday, June 28, 2009
I do not believe you but as you said we agree to disagree. You do have a
nice channel and I am thankful for that.

tasveeeren on Tuesday, July 21, 2009
Rafi Saheb's tum bin jaoon kahan was far better than Kishore hoarse voice.
World know Rafi Saheb sang this song twice in the film.

tasveeeren on Tuesday, July 21, 2009
Why music directors don't sing in their own voices?

smodass on Tuesday, July 21, 2009
Thats your personal opinion. Kishore's version was the one being played on
the radio all the time... I know since i am old enough to know that..

tasveeeren on Tuesday, July 21, 2009
Rafi Saheb was pure Indian. Please do not bring any religion here. We
respect all religion.

smodass on Tuesday, July 21, 2009
For the same reasons singers do not act as music directors (except for
Kishore Kumar who was also a music director).

smodass on Tuesday, July 21, 2009
I think there is a religious angle in the comments made by die hard Rafi
fans... Yes, an artist like Rafi could have flourished only in India where
there is a tradition of music, while in neighboring countries that
tradition is dying.

tasveeeren on Tuesday, July 21, 2009
I do not think so. That's your thinking!

tasveeeren on Tuesday, July 21, 2009
That's their problem, we do not have to worry about them. Rafi Saheb is # 1
to 10. Ask Manna Dey Saheb, he knows much music than us.

tasveeeren on Tuesday, July 21, 2009
KK was a nice singer no doubt, but when it comes to a favourite, it's only
Mohd. Rafi Saheb. Rafi Saheb, had some xtra, which others didn't have. So,
nothing to worry, we all are music lovers. PASAND APNI APNI, KHAYAL APNA
APNA. No ill will. But, I prefer Rafi Saheb's version of Tum Bin Jaoon
kahan.

smodass on Tuesday, July 21, 2009
Its not just my thinking, but rather a fact. Name me one singer in any
neighboring country to match Rafi. Then name me any singers who can match
Kishore, Mukesh, Manna Dey, Lata, Asha, etc. Also name me music directors
of the calibre of RD burman, shanker jaikishen, Naushad ali, Madan
Mohan..etc. ... Basically only pop music is played in Pak , and yes a few
qawaals and ghazal singers (who are appreciated more in India...)

smodass on Tuesday, July 21, 2009
Rafi was a movie singer.so he could never sing classical like Manna Dey
or Bhimsen Joshi. Or like the Dagar brothers...so depends on what kind of
music one is talking about. As a movie singer Rafi was king in the 50s and
60s, but his voice changed along with the music of the times, and thus Rafi
declined in the 70s. But point is people who do not really understand music
will make categorical statements like " So and so is the best" .thats a
joke.

smodass on Tuesday, July 21, 2009
Again it depends on the style of the song. Kishore could never sing certain
songs like Rafi, and neither could Rafi sing certain songs like Kishore.. I
am only objecting your categorical statements like "Rafi is the
Best"...No one is Best in everything... capiche ??

tasveeeren on Wednesday, July 22, 2009
Rafi Saheb was an allrounder... that's it. KK is not even close to him.

smodass on Wednesday, July 22, 2009
This is a fundamentalist statement coming from a musically illeterate
person.

tasveeeren on Wednesday, July 22, 2009
This is again your thinking. Rafi Saheb was declared the best singer of
millenium.

tasveeeren on Wednesday, July 22, 2009
Rafi Saheb's voice remained sweet till his death. His voice was fresh as
before. Unlike others, He could sing anything.

tasveeeren on Wednesday, July 29, 2009
Now you are on right track. No one can match Rafi Saheb. And do not worry
about neighbouring country. Let's speak about our singers.

tasveeeren on Wednesday, July 29, 2009
R.D. burman was just ok. Yes, S.D. Burman was one of my favourites.

Rohit Malik on Thursday, August 06, 2009
Acha hai. Jiski sab taarif karein uski aap burai kar do... limelite mein
aa jaoge... kyon?... kuch log saale janam se hi ulte chate hein... ..
aasmaan par thookoge to tumhare hi upar girega.. Dass babu jao machli
(fish) khao aur so jao...

What a voice. Quality of recording bad. But excellent rendering

VERY ROMANTIC NICE SONG

rajnikantsharma on Monday, January 04, 2010
Boss even though you are right I think we should ask the Ustads and the
Pandits to decide who was better and greatest (Agar sahat ke bare me poonch
na ho to hakim ke paas ho jaaoge na ki kisi mazdoor ke paas, sahi na?) I am
sure Rafi will be their unanimous choice. On the other hand, popularity is
decided by the masses and the masses can like langoors like SRK. So, I am
not surprised that KK was hugely popular (I like some of his songs and I
appreciate his talent). Kya bolte ho?

rajnikantsharma on Monday, January 04, 2010
Addendum: KK was bossy (ahem, how many wives did he have?) and could push
his way to the top. Keep in mind, he was the brother of Ashok (a terrific
artist) and Anup. So, he had the family name (and his controlling
personality) to see him through. Rafi came through on his ability alone
(Have people heard him talk?) If Rafi's voice 'changed' then KK shoud have
never crooned in his life. WHAT A JOKE!

fyz4u on Monday, January 11, 2010
no no it goes like this '' onek shundor gaan

fyz4u on Monday, January 11, 2010
one only comment we can find a lot of kishore voices very very close to his copying his odlai oooo with perfection but i've never come across someone close to rafi. even pronouncing his words exactly like him is difficult

daminiashu85 on Friday, January 22, 2010
this is song is favourite my mother so also me and this verry lovly song and i am fan offrafi sahab and verry lovly voice

Mrpkv1006 .pkv on Monday, January 25, 2010
Pl end this debate. Rafi saab was a jewel of india. There will be another
like hi. This song of lp-ab-rafi is one of the best ever composed and sung

MrRagbag on Saturday, March 13, 2010
This debate is entirely meaningless and ridiculous. Rafi Saheb and
Kishoreda are both priceless jewels of the Indian music scene and we are
fortunate to have heard the timeless numbers by both. It is like trying to
compare apples and oranges.

Yusuf Awan on Sunday, March 21, 2010
wow song..!

abhijeetshrm68 on Monday, March 22, 2010
if ur talking abt him being part of a powerful family. let me remind u of RAJIV KAPOOR who comes from the first family of indian cinema . he could never take off actually .

rajnikantsharma on Monday, March 22, 2010
@abhijeetshrm68 U are either quoting me out of context or not paying
attention to ALL that I wrote. I wrote that KK had his "family name (and
his controlling personality) to see him through". From what little I could
see of Rajeev, he obviously did not seem to possess a strong or pushy
personality to achieve some level of success. So, KK had a mix of both -
his family name & personality (and I don't mean positive here). Rajeev had
only his family name. Hope the point is clear.

kuzhi1983 on Sunday, May 30, 2010
lyrics is too good. hats off to rafi saab
