This song creates such a beautiful and a balanced mixture of eerieness, helplessness and romance that one can immediately connect with the song to make it an all-time cult-classic!

Just saw 'Amarprem'. I have no words to describe how it feels. This has
been one of my favourite all time great movies. The innocence, charm of
Anand babu, the cute nandu n d great Pushpa, these characters have been
etched in my memory since long. Rajesh Khanna saw the movie 'Nishipadma' 24
times. 'Amarprem' is based on the bengali movie 'NIshipadma'. Aise the
humare Superstar.Sir,'kuch toh log kahenge, logon ka kaam hai kehna'.U will
be remembered till eternity. M sure u r smiling 4m where u r now

No body can touch him,the style he created, the hair style is unique, the child like smile ,and the wink of the eye with the movement of the head are all his trade mark that millions will have in their hearts.

Lahoreumar on Sunday, July 29, 2012
The demise of Rajesh Khanna is untimely, but his hypnotic acting legacy would outlive the annals of silver screen. Beyond any doubt, he ushered in one of the most cherished cinematic phenomenon ever to happen in Bollywood. The euphoria and frenzy he generated in the early 70s is as yet unbroken. His soft, thoughtful and romantic acting demeanor was the hallmark of the Indian motion picture industry which witnessed swarms of audience storming to watch a Rajesh-Sharmila flick.

Sri NB on Tuesday, July 31, 2012
No..they will never be forgotten as long as their die hard fans exist...

deepest depths of depravity!!!!!

Lahoreumar on Tuesday, August 21, 2012
This song and its melodious music is magnificently eclectic, thoughful,
soul stirring, emotional, poignant, evocative and mesmerizing. Above all is
the tragic poetry and perfectly upto the mark direction by Shakti Samantha
coupled with pensive, absorbing and touching acting of Rajesh Khanna. Very
well done ... folks, they don't make like it, anymore !

Leena Manohar on Tuesday, August 28, 2012
Very controlled performance by Rajesh sahab,. that is the word to describe

Could u believe... In filmfare awards 1973. This song was nominated only for it's lyrics and male playback singer, RD was not even nominated... and the song which won in all these three categories was Jai bolo beimaan ki from film beimaan... verma malik for lyrics, mukesh playback and shankar jaikishan for music...

The best song in the world is an R.D.Burman song for sure. But I can't
chose between this and a few others. For example Mere Naina Sawan on the
right is also awesome.

varrrr on Wednesday, September 19, 2012
R.D.Burman is beyond those petty awards. The king is king because he won
the masses' hearts. No amount of awards can do justice to this song. It's
plain DIVINE and ETERNAL!

Right observation. How helpless we are. One of the foremost philosophy of
survival of fitness could be understanding our helplessness.

The Burmans could draw something special out of Kishore Kumar with their
semiclassical pieces. Wonderful!

K Vineet on Friday, December 07, 2012
No offense to Rafi Sahab or Mukesh Ji's fans but not only Rafi / Mukeshji
but any singer from K L Sehgal to Sonu Nigam would have been able to sing
this song the way one and only great Kishore Da sang. This is all when he
had no formal training of Music .. He was a true gem .. hats off Dada
