Mukesh on Dev Anand, with Maya Banerjee (my guess) in the frame, in Vidya
(1948). S.D.Burman's music on Yashodanand Joshi's lyrics.

''Dil ki anhe kabhee na bahar aaye.'' what a beautiful lyrics. Shabu, dear
thanks for uploading this awesome song, sung sooo beautifully by Mukesh ji.I
have never heard it but really enjoyed. Geet ka dard in Mukesh ji ki
aawazmei really dil ko choo gaya. Very beautifully presented video with
your artistic mind. Bless you. Love Sarla.

Thanks,Sarlaji, for the forward. I am familiar with all Vidya songs
including the sweet and innocent Suraiyya-Mukesh duet Laayi Khushi Ki
Duniya. Like Lataji in her early years, Mukesh had the sweetest voice until
about the start of 1970s, although both are always sweet to listen to.
Mukesh passed away in Detroit just a few days after I attended a concert by
him and Lataji in Boston( 1976). Good upload by MsShabana123.

Vipan ji how was listening to Mukesh ji in person? And Lata ji ?Did you
listen to Lata ji in a concert ? Wow. I am getting goose bumps . How does
Lata ji looked on stage? Must be really very dignified and some
personality.With respect. Sarla.

Yes, it was a concert tour. The performance was at the Berklee College of
Music in Boston with about 300 people in attendance. Lataji was then 46,
very slender. She was also a bit shy. Her stage demeanor was not magnetic
until she started singing the songs ,but of course the voice was absolutely
magical as always. A few days later the tour ended in tragedy as Mukesh
collapsed before the Detriot performance. Lataji brought his body home on
the plane back. He was her " Mukesh Bhaiyya" after all.

And yes, Mukesh was equally entralling. He had more of a stage presence. He
engaged with the audience with pre-performance remarks and in-between songs
too. The only other big-name performers I saw then were Talat Mehmood and
the great Bharatnatyam dancer Indrani Rehman, both wonderful of course.
Cambridge and Boston even then had enough Indo-Pak students and others at
Harvard, MIT and other places to pay for such concerts . Tickets ranged
from 5 to 10 dollars, I vaguely recall.

Hi Shabbu the way you are uploading the old and rare songs, I presume you
are 70 years old. If not post you own picture along with Shridevi.

jasbongy on Sunday, January 31, 2010
Thanks Vipan ji for Info. You heard all three legends singing that is really
great. i can understand what Lata ji must be going through while coming
back to india after this tragedy. We are really lucky to have such
brilliant legend singers . I have heard Nitin Mukesh and Ritesh Hemant
Kumar in my college time. With respect. Sarla.
