A beloved demanded a lover's mother's heart,
Blind in his passion, he raced to his mother's start.
The savage struck his mother, a dagger to her breast,
He fled with the wounded heart, stumbled, fell, put to the test.
Then from the mother's heart, a voice arose and cried,
"Did you hurt yourself, my darling? Did you hurt yourself, inside?
Walk gently in the future," she said,

A true mother, a false mother, a child caught in the fray,
Seeking justice, they arrived at the judge's bay.
