You are but a fleeting inscription,
a glimpse in the mirror’s gaze.
Those who traverse the celestial sea,
move through night and day,
lamps held high against shadows deep,
suns and stars, a cosmic parade.
Are you not truth, akin to these?
Alas, just a painted semblance.
You, a mere reflection.
My eyes beheld you,
you made a home within them.
Thus, O Dark One, you are darkness,
blue in the blueness, indigo deep.
My all, I find within you,
a union of my own heart.
I know not, none can know,
your voice within my songs.
You dwell within the poet’s heart.
No poet, no semblance, no mere shade.
You are not a reflection, you are...what are you?
A fleeting inscription,
a glimpse in the mirror’s gaze.
Those who traverse the celestial sea,
move through night and day,
lamps held high against shadows deep,
suns and stars, a cosmic parade.
Are you not truth, akin to these?
Alas, just a painted semblance.
You, a mere reflection.
My eyes beheld you,
you made a home within them.
Thus, O Dark One, you are darkness,
blue in the blueness, indigo deep.
My all, I find within you,
a union of my own heart.
I know not, none can know,
your voice within my songs.
You dwell within the poet’s heart.
No poet, no semblance, no mere shade.
You are not a reflection, you are...what are you?
