The auspicious night of union, sweet,
Honey overflowing in every atom,
Dreams awakened in eyes, desires danced in the heart's rhythm.
The lord, enraptured, swayed,
Each moment, every limb trembled,
Thirst perfumed on the lips,
Love throbbed in the soul.
Then, smiling from beneath her veil, her anklets chimed,
The queen entered the inner sanctum, shy and blushing.
Both hands adorned with henna,
A vermilion mark upon her brow,
Her fair face, if it smiled,
Made the full moon seem pale.
Slowly, Choodawat advanced, slowly he advanced,
Unveiling the queen's face,
Lightning flashed through every vein, the body swayed like a peepal leaf.
When lips met lips,
Breaking the shackles of modesty,
A war bugle resounded at the gate,

The shehnai's melody softened.
The embrace forgot the arm lock,
The embrace forgot the kiss,
Breaths forgot the kiss,
Heartbeats forgot breaths.
Adorning the bridal bed, adorning the bridal bed,
He said, "I will not go to war,
In your kohl-lined eyes,
I will place the pearl of my heart today."
First, the queen remained silent,
Then, like a fire, she ignited,
As if lightning struck without clouds, without rain.
Like an injured serpent, she arched her brow,
Tearing the veil, she spoke thus:
"Give me your sword, you, wear bangles and a bodice."
A lion caged, a lion caged,
Suddenly awakened from sleep,
Or carrying a storm within,
As fire erupts from a mountain,
The Rana stood tall,
Took up the spear in his hands.
"Har Har Bam Bam Mahadev,"

Saying, he departed for war.
When he saw her husband's heroic attire,
First, the queen rejoiced, then she trembled, faltered,

She went madly to the window, a cut-winged swan, restless,

"Take the token, take the token," the sky spoke, "take the token,"
The earth spoke, "take the token."
Placing it in a silver platter, the servant ran with the token,
The Rana, impatient, urged, "Bring, bring, bring the token,"
When the cloth was raised,
He stood, petrified,
The queen's bloodied head
Smiled, placed on the platter.
The lord, seeing, cried out,
"Ha, ha, my queen, my queen,
Your sacrifice is wondrous,
You truly are a Kshatrani!"
Then he spurred his horse,
The earth spoke, "Victory, victory!"
"Hadi Rani, your victory! O Mother India, your victory!"
"Mother India, your victory! O Mother India, your victory!"

the queen. if it was today, the queen would have said,"Why should you go?
Are ther not others to go. You stay back with me and let others go. ."
