To a world where shadows of sin contended.
Sages and seers, weary of prayer,
Cried out, beseeching, for a vanquisher's care.
Vishnu's avatar, bound to a womb's hold,
Born in a prison, a story untold.
He lingered not, not a moment to stay,
Locks shattered, guards slumbered away.
From heavens a message, a divine decree,
Vasudeva's command, a prophecy.
"Child, be taken to Nanda's abode,"
Thy play, O Lord, thy mystery bestowed.
No mortal can fathom thy boundless art,
Thy play, O Lord, forever to impart.
The storm raged, the wind's fierce embrace,
Kansa's fear, a shadowed space.
How to venture forth, with the infant so frail?
