Lyrics of Sawan Ke Mahine Me Ik Aag Si Seene Me - सावन के महीने में इक आग सी सीने में

sochta hun ki piyun piyun na piyun
taak daman ke siyun siyun na siyun
dekh kar jaa kashmakash me hun
kya karun main jiyun jiyun haay! na jiyun

sawan ke mahine me, ek aag si sine me
lagti hai to pi leta hu, do char ghadi ji leta hu
sawan ke mahine me, ek aag si sine me
lagti hai to pi leta hu, do char ghadi ji leta hu
sawan ke mahine me

barso jhlakaye maine, ye shishe or ye pyale
barso jhlakaye maine, ye shishe or ye pyale
kuch aaj pila de aise, jo mujhko hi pi le
har roj to mai hu hi, dil ko bahka mai pi leta hu
do char ghadi ji leta hu, sawan ke mahine me

lambe jiwan se achha, vo ek pal jo apna ho
lambe jiwan se achha, vo ek pal jo apna ho
us pal ke baad ye duniya, kya gam hai agar sapna ho
kuch soch ke aisi bate, ghabara ke mai pi leta hu
do char ghadi ji leta hu, sawan ke mahine me

maikhane me aaya hu, mausam ka ishara pa ke
maikhane me aaya hu, mausam ka ishara pa ke
dum bhar ke liye baitha hu, rangi sahara pake
sathi jo teri zid hai to, sahrma ke mai pi leta hu
do char ghadi ji leta hu
sawan ke mahine me, ek aag si sine me
lagti hai to pi leta hu, do char ghadi ji leta hu
sawan ke mahine me

Poetic Translation - Lyrics of Sawan Ke Mahine Me Ik Aag Si Seene Me
To drink, I ponder, or to abstain?
This torn cloak, to mend, or let remain?
The goblet beckons, a fierce debate,
To live, or not to live, sealed by fate.

In the monsoon's embrace, a fire within,
When it burns, I drink, and taste life's spin,
For a fleeting while, my spirit thrives,
In the monsoon's heart, where longing survives.

Years have passed, with glasses I've drained,
Years, with these vessels, my soul has sustained,
Quench me now, with a potion so deep,
That I vanish, lost in slumber's keep.
Each day, I tempt the heart to stray,
And drink to live, for a little play,
In the monsoon's heart, where shadows gleam.

Better a moment, with passion ablaze,
Than a lifetime stretched through endless days,
Beyond that moment, if the world dissolves,
What sorrow then, if a dream evolves?
With thoughts like these, fear's shadow near,
I drink again, to quell the fear,
And taste life's breath, in the monsoon's dream.

To the tavern I came, by the season's call,
To the tavern I came, answering nature's thrall,
For a breath I sit, with hues so bright,
Clutching colors, with all my might.
If you insist, my friend, I blush with shame,
And drink again, whispering your name,
And taste life's breath,
In the monsoon's heart, a fire within,
When it burns, I drink, and taste life's spin,
For a fleeting while, my spirit thrives,
In the monsoon's heart, where longing survives.

I agree with you. Also, one can see that Dev Anand had a great sense of
music & melody. He always extracted the best of any Music Director he
worked with. Some of the most beautiful songs of Hindi cinema have been
picturized on him.

Madan Mohan was undoubtedly the Prince of ghazals, but he was so versatile
as well. Such a pity he was practically unknown during his lifetime. A very
under-rated music director of the Golden Era of Hindi Film music.

What a gem .. Rafi Saab & Madan Mohan. The sad version is also special. It
takes me to childhood days of Radio Ceylon. Thanks a lot for the upload.
