Last night, your memory, a lost echo, found my heart,
Like spring, stealing in, where deserts once kept apart.
Like a valley of beauty, softly traversing sand,
Or healing that comes, for the ill, uncommanded.
When the dying sun breathed its last, my heart understood,
That your forehead, it seemed, was brimming, like starlight, with good.
When my breath bloomed anew, I knew then with a sigh,
That the kohl from your eyes now scattered across the sky.
No flowers have bloomed, nor have we met, nor drunk deep,
In a strange hue, this spring has been spent, while secrets sleep.
You've come, and yet I've waited, a vigil I keep,
And dawn has searched and searched, but still I weep.
The nest is of your branches, where your soul takes rest.
My dawn carries your scent, a fragrance blessed.
When I think of you, the morning fills with grace,
