Powerful. I had never heard of Biren Lal. Wonderful voice. I would have confused it with Pankaj Mullick's, whose voice and musical genius was of course out superlative. I cannot make a emotive connection with the 40's singers like K L Saigal, but definitely with Pankaj Mullick's. Heartfelt apologies to Saigal fans - no wonder he was a pioneer in Hindi music. The singer is Biren Bal. This song was used in both the Bengali version
"Mahaprasthaner Pathe" and the Hindi version"Yatrik" of the movie. The
music director was Pankaj Mullick
