How can I forget, when memory's a tide?
I weave a ghazal, where her name does ride.
How can I forget, when memory's a tide?
I weave a ghazal, and her name confide.
She, a thorned bloom on a rose's guise,
I, wounded flesh, yet to her I confide.
On some path, perhaps, we'll meet again,
On some path, perhaps, we'll meet again.
Perhaps, on some path, again.
On some path, perhaps, again.
We might unite, though fate may be the strain,
On some path, perhaps, again.
Life will weep tears, a river deep,
Life will weep tears, a river deep.
Memories of friends, in slumber sleep,
On some path, perhaps, we'll meet again.
Those we yearned for, with hearts so true,
Those we yearned for, with hearts so true.
Those we yearned for, with hearts so true,
Found companions, a different view,
On some path, perhaps, we'll meet again.
Strangers' mists will then depart,
Strangers' mists will then depart,
Your eyes may gleam, a brand new start,
On some path, perhaps, we'll meet again.
Of familiarity, what can it impart?
Of familiarity, what can it impart?
Of familiarity, what can it impart?
Of familiarity, what can it impart?
Still, my friend, reflect with your heart,
On some path, perhaps, we'll meet again.
Those who part,
Those who part, will they ever restart?
Those who part, will they ever restart?
Those who part, will they ever restart?
Yet, await, my soul, with hopeful art,
On some path, perhaps, we'll meet again.
We might unite, though fate may be the strain,
On some path, perhaps, again, again, again.
