The wind, a guru, the water, a father,
The earth, a mother, vast and grand.
Day and night, like nurses of mercy,
Play out the world, in their hand.
Good and bad, the karmas we weave,
Are judged at the court of Dharma's decree.
Our deeds define our closeness or distance,
To what we ultimately will be.
Those who have meditated on the Name,
And labored with sincere devotion,
Nanak says, their faces will shine,
And many shall be set in motion.
