A mountain held a nest of love,
Where I beheld a palanquin.
A garland of jasmine, she did wear,
A fairy stood, serene and keen.
A Houri stood, perfumed and bright,
Yet sorrow marked her lovely face.
Tears flowed, a broken stream of light,
Compelled, it seemed, to weep in place.
A wound, a hurt within her eyes,
"Oh, Mother, Mother, hear my plea!"
To see her weep, beneath the skies,
Brought tears to earth and galaxy.
The spring's embrace, it turned away,
Where fragrance once had bloomed and grown.
The moon's soft hues began to fray,
And smoke on stars was darkly sown.
I pondered then, a whispered plea,
"Why grief alone is all they give?"
I bore the sorrow, endlessly,
And opened wide the heart I live.
The God of principles, they say,
The angel of true love's embrace.
Why not surrender, come what may,
To lands whose virtues time will trace?

He is the leader, we revere.
Then laughter came, a story told,
As though the garden danced, so clear.
