Where do you seek me, O seeker?
I am here, so very near.
Where do you seek me, O seeker?
I am here, dispelling fear.
Not in pilgrimage, nor idol’s form,
Nor in secluded hermitage’s storm.
Not in temple, nor in mosque's call,
Nor in Kaaba or Kailash's thrall.
Not in mantra, nor in penance deep,
Nor in fasting, secrets to keep.
Not in ritual, nor in act's decree,
Nor in yoga's silent liberty.
Not in breath, nor in the flesh's hold,
Nor in cosmos, stories untold.
Not in the third eye, nor in the void,
But in every breath, joy deployed.
If you seek, you'll find me fast,
In a moment, the shadows surpassed.
Says Kabir, listen, brothers, true,
I am found in faith, shining through.
Where do you seek me, O seeker?
I am here, so very near.
