I had thought, if only,
Before the touch of death,
I had thought, if only,
In the wilderness of the world,
I had thought, if only,
In the crematorium of existence.
If to any soul,
Just one mark, a path,
True, faithful love,
Could be granted as fate,
That shore, so distant,
Appears,
And of its own accord, draws
The boat near.
I had thought, the heart's
Lotus blooms so.
I had thought,
Patience and peace, found so.
I had thought, wounds
Of the soul, heal so.
But with just thought,
Desires are not fulfilled,
If it were so, every
Heart's longing would bloom,
Though efforts be countless,
Things do not fall in place,
If it were so, every
Traveler would find their goal.
I had thought, that
Fate of man often,
Breaks, shatters,
And then recovers.
Like a celestial nymph,
Emerges from the moon's cloud,
But the circling of my time,
Has no end.
Even dry earth,
Becomes a raging torrent.
What complaint of destiny?
What grievance with the world?
My own breath,
Turns into a sword.
Alas, yet still I think,
In the night's darkness,
Stars light their lamps.
When blood weeps,
Then the heart's songs flow.
Those who must live,
Do not fear death.
So, if my cup is,
Empty, then so be it.
Let me bring it to
My lips,
And drink thus.
My life, at every turn,
Unsuccessful, yes,
Yet still, let me live
A moment for hopes,
Yet still, let me live
A moment for hopes.
