Lyrics of Hanuman Chalisa - हनुमान चालीसा

shri guru charan saroj raj nij mane mukure sudhaari
varnao raghuvar vimal jasu jo daayaku phal chaari
budhihin tanu janike sumirau pavan kumaram
bal budhi vidya dehu mohe harahu kalesa bikaar

jai hanuman gyan gun saagar
jai kapis tihun lok ujaagar
ram doot atulit bal dhaama
anjani-putra pavan sut naama
mahavir vikram bajrangi
kumati nivaar sumati ke sangi
kanchan varan viraaj subesa
kaanan kundal kunchit kesaa
haath vajra aur dhuvaje viraaje
kandhe moonj janehu saaje

shankar suvan kesrinandan
tej prataap maha jag vandan
vidyavaan guni ati chaatur
raam kaaj karibe ko aatur
prabhu charitra sunibe ko rasiya
raam lakhan sita man basiya
sukshma roop dhari siyahi dikhaava
vikat roop dhari lanka jalaava
bhima roop dhari asur sanghaare
ramachandra ke kaaj sanvaare

laaye sanjivan lakhan jiyaaye
shri raghuvir harashi ur laaye
raghupati kinhi bahut badhaayi
tum mam priye bharathi sam bhaai
sahas badan tumharo yash gaave
as kahi shripati kanth lagaave
sankadik brahmadi muneesa
naarad saarad sahit aheesa
yam kuber digpal jahan te
kavi kovid kahi sake kahan te

tum upkaar sugreevahin keenha
ram milaay rajpad deenha
tumharo mantra vibheeshan maana
lankeshwar bhay sub jag jaana
yug sahastra jo jan par bhaanu
leelyo tahi madhur phal jaanu
prabhu mudrika meli mukh maahee
jaladhi langhi gaye achraj naahee
durgaam kaaj jagat ke jete
sugam anugraha tumhre tete

ram dware tum rakhvaare
hoat na agya binu paisare
sub sukh lahai tumhari sarna
tum rakshak kaahu ko darna
aapan tej samhaaro aapai
teenhon lok haank te kanpai
bhoot pisaach nikat nahin aavai
mahaavir jab naam sunavai
naase rog harai sab peera
japat nirantar hanumant beera

sankat se hanuman chudavai
mann karam vachan dyan jo lavai
sab par raam tapasvee raaja
tinke kaaj sakal tum saaja
aur manorath jo koi lavai
sohi amit jeevan phal pavai
charon yug partap tumhaara
hai persidh jagat ujiyaara
saadhu sant ke tum rakhwaare
asur nikandan ram dulhaare

ashtasidhi nav nidhi ke dhaata
us var deen janki maata
raam rasaayan tumhare paasa
sada raho raghupati ke daasa
tumhare bhajan raam ko pavai
janam janam ke dukh bisravai
anth kaal raghuvir pur jayee
jahaan janam haribakht kahayee
aur devta chit na dharehi
hanumanth se hi sarve sukh karehi

sankat kate mite sab peera
jo sumirai hanumat balbeera
jai jai jai hanuman gosahin
kripa karahu gurudev ki nyahin
jo sat baar paath kare koyi
chutehi bandhi maha sukh hoyi
jo yah padhe hanuman chalisa
hoye siddhi sakhi gaureesa
tulsidaas sada hari chera
keejai das hrdaye mein dera

pavantnai sankat harana mangal murti roopa
ram lakhan sita sahita hrdaye basahu sur bhoopa

lyrics of song Hanuman Chalisa

Poetic Translation - Lyrics of Hanuman Chalisa
With the dust of the Guru's lotus feet, I cleanse the mirror of my mind,
And sing the spotless glory of Raghuvar, yielding the four fruits of life's find.

Knowing this body to be dull, I remember Hanuman, son of the wind,
Grant me strength, wisdom, and knowledge, and dispel all sorrow that I have been pinned.

Hail to Hanuman, ocean of wisdom and virtue's grace,
Hail to the Lord of the monkeys, illuminating all three worlds, time and space.
Ram's messenger, of immeasurable strength, a celestial knight,
Son of Anjani, born of the wind, bathed in celestial light.
Mighty hero, of valorous might, a thunderbolt of a form,
Dispeller of wickedness, companion of good thoughts, riding the storm.
Golden hued, resplendent, in garments of grace,
Earrings adorn your ears, your hair a curly embrace.
In your hand a mace and a banner of victory you hold high,
Sacred thread upon your shoulder, reaching for the sky.

Son of Shankar, Kesari's delight,
Your radiance and glory, the world cannot deny its light.
A treasure of wisdom, virtuous, and exceedingly wise,
Eager to serve Ram's purpose, the world you can surmise.
Delighting in the tales of the Lord, your heart's desire,
Ram, Lakshman, and Sita, in your heart’s fire.
Assuming a subtle form, you revealed yourself to Sita, pure,
And in a fearsome form, you set Lanka ablaze, to endure.
In a powerful form, you vanquished demons of fright,
And carried out the work of Ram, the celestial light.

Bringing the Sanjeevani, Lakshman was revived,
And Raghuveer embraced you, joyfully, revived.
Ragupati praised you with highest acclaim,
"You are as dear to me as my brother Bharata's name."
A thousand mouths sing your praise, so grand,
Thus spoke Shri Rama, and embraced you with His hand.
The Sanakas, the Brahmas, and the sages of old,
Narada, Saraswati, and the Serpent, stories to be told.
Yama, Kubera, and the guardians of the directions,
How can poets and scholars sing of such perfections?

You aided Sugriva, with your noble deed,
And restored him to the throne, planting the seed.
Vibhishana heeded your counsel, wise and true,
And became the Lord of Lanka, as all the world knew.
Across the yojana of a thousand, a sun was there,
You devoured it, believing it a sweet fruit, beyond compare.
With the Lord's ring in your mouth, you did proceed,
And crossed the ocean, a feat indeed.
All difficult tasks in this world, whatever they may be,
Become easy through your grace, eternally free.

You are the gatekeeper of Ram's sacred door,
Without your permission, none can enter anymore.
All joys they gain, who seek your embrace,
Protected by you, no fear can they trace.
Your own brilliance you alone hold,
And by your roar, all three worlds are controlled.
Ghosts and evil spirits cannot come near,
When the name of Mahavir the world does hear.
Disease is erased, all pain takes flight,
By chanting Hanuman, the valiant light.

Hanuman delivers from every plight,
Those who meditate on you, day and night.
Ram is the supreme king, the ascetic of renown,
And you accomplish all His tasks, in every town.
And whatever desires a devotee does bring,
They obtain the eternal fruit, happiness will sing.
Your glory shines through all ages, forever,
And illuminates the world, in all endeavor.
Guardian of saints, protector of the good,
Destroyer of demons, Ram’s very brotherhood.

Bestower of eight siddhis and nine treasures untold,
Such is the boon granted by Mother Janaki, of old.
Ram's elixir resides within you, so pure,
Forever a servant of Ragupati, to endure.
Through your devotion, one finds Ram's grace,
And sorrows of countless births, you erase.
At the end of life, to Raghuvar’s city you’ll ascend,
Where you'll be known as a devotee, world without end.
Abandoning all other gods, their praise you cease,
By serving Hanuman, all joy and peace.

All sorrows vanish, all pain takes flight,
When one remembers Hanuman, with all their might.
Victory, victory, victory to Hanuman, the divine,
Bestow your grace upon me, like a Guru’s sign.
If anyone recites this a hundred times or more,
They will be freed from bondage, and happiness will pour.
Whoever reads this Hanuman Chalisa with grace,
Will attain success, as Gauri's witness does embrace.
Tulsidas, forever the servant of Hari, I implore,
Make your abode within my heart, evermore.

O Wind-Son, remover of all sorrow, embodiment of grace,
With Ram, Lakshman, and Sita, dwell within my heart's sacred space.
