Lyrics of Gayi Kahe Ko Mai Gayi Kahe Ko Bagiya Me - गई काहे को मैं गई काहे को बगिया में
gayi kahe ko mai gayi kahe ko mai kahe gayi bagiya me
koi bhawra mere piche pad gaya re gayi kahe ko mai
gayi kahe ko mai kahe gayi bagiya me
koi bhawra mere piche pad gaya re
socha usne mai bhi kali hu mere aage piche bada mandaraya
re kitna manaya mana nahi wo
bhagi mai to mera jiya ghabraya re
koi kata koi kata mere pairo me gad gaya re
gayi kahe ko mai
gayi kahe gayi gayi kahe gayi nadiya kinare mai
koi dhobhi mere piche pad gaya re
ban gaya jogi prem ka rogi
kahne laga mai to terei pooja karunga
rup ki kali tu na mili to pyar me tere abhi yahi marunga
dekha logo ko dekha logo ko wo aage badh gaya re
gayi kahe ko mai gayi kahe gayi
gayi kahe gayi saj ke bajriya mai
koi chaila mere piche pad gaya re
wo takraya bhid me mujhse
yaha waha karne laga mujhe tang re
tham li badh ke meri kalai
kahne laga chal gori mere sang re
maine data to maine data to julmi akad gaya re
koi chaila mere piche pad gaya re
gayi kahe ko mai kahe gayi bagiya me
koi bhawra mere piche pad gaya re
kahe gayi nadiya kinare mai
koi dhobhi mere piche pad gaya re
gayi kahe gayi saj ke bajriya mai
koi chaila mere piche pad gaya re
Poetic Translation - Lyrics of Gayi Kahe Ko Mai Gayi Kahe Ko Bagiya Me
Why did I go, oh why, into the garden's green?
A bumblebee pursued, a shadow keen.
Why did I go, oh why, into the garden's bloom?
A bumblebee pursued, sealing my doom.
He thought me dark, a petal in his sight,
He hovered near, throughout the fading light.
I pleaded, begged, but still he would not cease,
My heart took flight, yet failed to find release.
A thorn, a sharp and piercing sting,
Why did I go, my sorrow it did bring.
Why did I go, along the river's grace?
A washerman pursued, his eyes to chase.
He became a yogi, love's despair,
He vowed to worship, in the open air.
"You, a bud, if not for me, I'll die,"
He vowed, his words a mournful sigh.
He saw the others, watched them draw near,
Why did I go, my growing fear.
Why did I go, adorned, to the marketplace?
A dandy chased, his lewd embrace.
He bumped into me, in the crowded way,
He bothered me, at the close of day.
He grabbed my wrist, with a touch so bold,
"Come with me, fair maiden," so he told.
I scolded him, and the cruel man's pride increased,
The dandy chased, a maddening beast.
Why did I go, oh why, into the garden's green?
A bumblebee pursued, a shadow keen.
Why did I go, along the river's grace?
A washerman pursued, his eyes to chase.
Why did I go, adorned, to the marketplace?
A dandy chased, his lewd embrace.
