Absolutely right - this was such a beautiful movie -such a deep and emotional story -- and the songs are just all such classics. Bollywood should really try to put more of this quality in their stories -- instead of trying to be so Hollywood-like

This movie made sharmila and rajesh immortal. no matter what they do after this movie they are the best thing to happen to indian cinema. specially sharmila.. end of the movie. you wanna cry for her... forever.

must see. the greatest movie ever made in india. with the greatest artists of bengal, r.d. burman, his father, who sings this song, s.d. burman, sharmila tagore, kishore kumar, tarashonkor, the writer of this novel.

I always loved meaningful movies made by Bengali film makers, nobody told story like they did. The current decline in quality movies is due to missing Bengali element... and this coming from a Punjabi.
