Before me, Guru and God stand, a dual grace,
Whose feet to touch, in this hallowed space?
My Guru's touch, a guiding light so true,
Revealed the path, and showed me God anew.
A towering tree, the date palm's lofty height,
A spectacle, yet barren of true light.
No solace offered to the weary soul,
Its fruits held distant, beyond my mortal goal.
Speak gentle words, let ego softly fade,
Words that refresh, a cooling cascade.
Bring comfort to the hearts that stand nearby,
And find your own heart's coolness in reply.
Ask not of caste, when seeking wisdom's gleam,
Ask not of birth, but of the learned stream.
Value the sword, its purpose to define,
Leave the scabbard, the vessel, far behind.
