If madness you seek, then mad you must make,
Yes, if madness you seek, then mad make me whole,
Else, fate may weave a spectacle,
Lest fate, a mockery, should take its toll.
Oh, beholders, with laughter in your gaze,
Do not look upon me with such glee,
Lest love's embrace bind you in my maze,
Yes, lest you too, become a shadow of me.
I search, I seek, where does my candle reside?
I search, I seek, its light a fervent quest,
Where is the flame that can cast aside,
And make each object a moth, put to the test?
If Kaaba cannot grace this heart's domain,
Let a temple of idols arise and unfold,
If Kaaba won't grace it, then let it reign,
A temple of idols, bravely bold.
At each step, a prostration of joyous trance,
May every atom, the Beloved's stone become,
May every speck find love's entrancing dance,
May every atom, Beloved's stone become.
