Poetic Translation - Lyrics of Banwari Re Ras Bihari Re
Banhwari, the dancer of the cosmic dance,
Oh, dweller of the heart, your play unfurls,
Boundless, beyond all mortal glance.
Your play, a universe that swirls.
Upon the Yamuna's shore, where shadows play,
Krishna, the dark one, a game began,
A ball lost in the river's sway,
He plunged, a playful, searching man.
The serpent Kaliya, in fury's dance,
Rose from the depths, a moment’s fright,
As Krishna spun, a joyful trance,
And vanquished darkness with His light.
When Gokul's embrace He left behind,
For Mathura's walls, a journey's start,
Where evil's shadow, cruel and blind,
Rose, in the name of a wicked heart.
The demon king, by deceit's art,
Drew Krishna near, with cunning's plea,
But lost his life, his soul torn apart,
By the divine, eternally.
Sweet captivator, your grace abounds,
A sacrifice to your every deed,
Your play, where endless joy resounds,
Beyond all measure, a soul's true need.
