To wed the maiden, Death’s embrace,
The patriot, in his final light.
A garland wrought of gallows wood,
He sits, in courage, taking flight.
Rajguru, Sukhdev, heads held high,
The bridegroom, a devoted soul.
For India’s sake, they dance and sing,
And drink the flames to make them whole.
No fear they hold, though fate may strike,
Their hearts, in generosity, enroll.
The nectar of the brave they drank,
And laughed as life began to fade.
Their legacy, a million flags,
Through countless footsteps, unafraid.
For you, O martyrs, we now ask,
What price for freedom has been paid?
