Roshan and Sahir Ludhianv and Mohd. Rafi at their best ! It is just superb.

God has specially created Mohd.Rafi and sent him to earth to sing this
song. How fortunate we are?

I am 52. I have been faithfully and loyally listening to Mohammad Rafi Saab from the age of 7. Rafi Saab was Almighty Creator's special gift to India. On an average I hear Rafi Saab's songs for 3 to 4 hours daily. That he was an unparalleled playback singer with a Heavenly mellifluous voice is of secondary importance to me. Most importantly he was a very warm-hearted and decent soul specially created by Divine Almighty.

i beat you by 2 :) i've been listening to rafi sahab since i was 5. as i
child even before knowing how he was, i was enchanted by the voice itself.

hobgoblin707: -

Dear wonderful friend,
I am delighted in hearing from you. I wish you all the success and happiness in life and may all your dreams come true. Yes, there can never be another Mohammad Rafi. Truly a wonderful soul and an incomparable and legendary playback singer. Continue listening to his beautiful songs and may your life be a harmony of lovely melodies. Best wishes.

Rafi is immortal. So are his songs.

Akam216 on Thursday, February 07, 2008
I am only 17 and i have been listening to Rafi's songs since i was
young...and i am now practicing his songs because i am in love with his
voice...i am mesmerized by his talent...its funny how i didnt notice Rafi's
profound voice until i gained interest...the new generation is missing
out...MOHD RAFI IS THE BEST...i consider him my idol above Sonu Nigam.

Divine25Sun on Tuesday, February 12, 2008
Akam216:-

Dear wonderful friend - I wish you every success in life and I strongly hope you become another Mohammad Rafi. Continue practicing in his style; remember you are not alone; Rafi Saab is watching and blessing you. I am truly thrilled that the younger generation like you and hobgoblin707 are proudly keeping the torchlight of Rafi burning ever bright.
May your life and the happy music be melodiously intertwined.
Best wishes for a prosperous happy life.

anitdua on Friday, March 14, 2008
I agree with all the comments here. Rafi had God's own voice which can
never be equaled let alone surpassed. Many perhaps may not know that Rafi
in an interview in 1979 when asked which song of his he thought was his
best, he replied that of all the songs he had sung , if he had decide which
one was his best, "barsaat ki raat" was the one.

The best song rafi has sung

mtmraj on Monday, July 07, 2008
I honestly agree with friend Anitdua about Rafisaab. But if there be another Madhubala, I would rather swim the Atlantic to reach her.

mtmraj on Tuesday, July 15, 2008
I humbly agree with the learned Gamini partly. Recovering what was lost prematurely, we don't know yet.Not after project Genome and in another 50-100 years, it may be possible. She would have survived in the next decade and might be alive today. There is more in this pashtun girl than what was written. How could she attract millions of Indians for generations? So much was missing about her life.

bom441 on Thursday, July 17, 2008
Great song from Rafisaab.Great are the composer and the guys who contributed the orchestra. Seen this movie in India in college days.Incomparable Madhubala and the sleepy eyed hero. How can I forget that wonderful time and world? Here in NY, the rain is associated with wild thunderstorms. How I love those times.Thank all the wonderful people who are downloading these masterpiecs.

Akram! you have found the right direction..You are on the right track..And
all of that at the right age... You have enjoyed Rafi saab's songs, I can

voice..He is God's voice after all... :-)

This is Pure NOSTALGIA.. I can remember when I were a wee Lil wippersnapper
aged ten I used to listen on my PaPa's "VALVE RADIO" glued to the radio
watching those Green hypnotic lights glow as the valves got charged, unlike
modern day Transistor's and IC's Good grief you can smel the bakealite.

mtmraj on Wednesday, March 11, 2009
I would rather swim Atlantic if there is another Madhubala out there.

shahidrafifan on Tuesday, March 17, 2009
Mohammad Rafi the greatest singer in the world ever. what a voice what control, what skill, what range, inimitable even today. Underrated by indian film industry who only awarded him a handful of awards and none posthumously. Just look at the shear number of difficult songs he sang. A pillar of the industry. They should mourn the loss of such talant every night and every day

Allen Alvares on Tuesday, March 24, 2009
I like this song very much

pimt2006 on Saturday, April 11, 2009
Rafi Saheb was not just a singer, he was very nice, coperative, helpful and top of that a human with so many kind and beautiful skill he had. These type of human born once in a life time. That's it. Today's people are just selfish. May ALLAH keep Rafi Saheb in Paradise

rank1pro on Thursday, April 16, 2009
Only Rafi saab can bring such depth of emotions in his voice...another
masterpiece rendering by the great maestro (hats off to the composer and
song writer team). Can listen to such gems forever !!!

vindMera on Sunday, April 26, 2009
I don't think Rafi was ever underrated. He is highly regared by actors like Amitabh, dharmendra, jeetendra, all the kapoors of yesteryears.
He even has a set of dedicated fans among modern famous singers.

russel ahmed on Tuesday, May 05, 2009
brother shahidraffian u are absolutely true.rafi is underated as a
singer and compared to others...he was the greatest..he sang the most
difficult songs...unfortunately there are ppl who dont understand
music.

Falthoo comments, sitting in PAK and UK seeing from their eyes is useless. We
indians know how to honour our citizens and artists,we respect and honour
him,he is the firt honourate with padma award as singer in bollywood. If
your pak has guts try to produce another lata, rafi, kishore, mannadey or
talat do it,else enjoty their collection.Dont create havoc...,They are all
our property thatsit.

thesaral on Saturday, May 16, 2009
How is Rafi underated as singer? His voice can be heard in different languages like Telugu. Popular and great singers like SPB, Yesudas respect him and even today recall his songs as their most favorites. What ratings can measure Rafi's influence? Millions continue to sing in their own voices, "zindagi bhar nahi bhoolengi Rafiji awaaz.".

A reality check. We should know-no award including Bharat Ratna is certified measure of greatness. Its a small token of appreciation/recognition. For every recipient, there are surely many who equally/more deserves it. This is natural and must be expected for a billion+ nation. India/world- not every deserving person gets recognition of any specific award. But deserving always get recognized- alive/not -in many ways.
Also, since when mention in media became a yardstick to measure greatness?

gengarjetty on Friday, June 19, 2009
THAT is my point! It is NOT a measure of greatness, hence I use the term underrated !

thesaral on Friday, June 19, 2009
What underrated brother? Look at the number of comments just one song of Rafi saheb is generating even after decades of being sung. Isn't this enough proof that he is still highly rated by music lovers? And I suspect some writing here were barely born or even not born when the song was sung like me. Itnaa pyaar aur dilse badaa rating hoyegaa naahin. zindagi bhar nahin bhoolegi Rafiji kaa awaaz!

gengarjetty on Friday, June 19, 2009
Well, if you put rafi saahab to anyones ears, won't they want to hear him? The audience who ARE exposed to his magic will obviously appreciate. But how does that happen on a larger scale when his contemporaries are being hyped madly by the media? By the way you are right infact i was born in 1990 :)

thesaral on Friday, June 19, 2009
You successfully got exposed to Rafiji voice:-) If one born in 1990 is able to listen, I am sure many are exposed as well. Many contemporary great singers like SPG, Yesudas revere Rafi as their most favorite singer. Complaining about underrating is silly! It is like shouting that I have no tongue:-) More complaints about underrating only prove how popular and well rated Rafi still is!!! Want to improve ratings? Stop complaining & start celebrating Rafiji songs will surely improve ratings!!!

gengarjetty on Saturday, June 20, 2009
aaah.. your smiley has a nose :-) Well many rafians are quite aggressive.. I don't really complain, but it is sad when people(young kishore kumar) call him unversatile :-(
Also yeah 30 years after rafi saahabs passing.. that is impressive that people still fight for rafi... well i used to post madly tributes/artcles on rafi saahab.. :) that made many ppl happy and even created 2 rafi fans :)

tolykozin on Saturday, August 01, 2009
this guy is the most lackluster actor of his time. He has absolutely no
personality. I normally love the old actors. The failure of JahanAra is
attributed to Bharat Bhushan, Even a strong powerful actress like Mala
Sinha could not redeem that film, What a shame.

zfk110 on Tuesday, August 04, 2009
Rafi Sh was, is, and will be the greatest singer of all the time,I love
this movie. Bring my childhood memories.

Rahul Ajgaonkar on Friday, September 04, 2009
