Absolutely mastery in rendition.

@TheUma2000 If I say that this is the best ghazal ever sung by Ghulam Ali,
it may be just right. Look at the great poetry in all couplets and how
gently, accurately, soberly and beautifully GA has rendered each word with
greatest skill, emphasizing the meaning and maintaining the spirit and mood
of all syllables. His skills are at an exciting peak. I think for the
serious music and poetry lovers it is the biggest treat listening to this
ghazal. (cont.)

S Qasim Hasan Zaidi on Tuesday, April 19, 2011
@sqhzaidi Another master piece of similar ranking sung by Ghulam Ali is the
ghazal written by Ahmed Nadeem Quasmi, " Shaam ko subhe chaman yaad aaye"
(available on YT), where GA has articulated important words used in the
ghazal in a special way adding beauty, colors and clarity to their meaning.
Great pleasure indeed, listening to it early morning. Thanks Uma for
sharing and thanks@samarjitacharjee for uploading this beautiful ghazal
which has ever been my favorite.

Thanks for sharing with me " Shaam ko subhe chaman yaad aaye" ...Would like to visit this video soon.

THANKS, u liked it. This ghuzal is a real gem for the ghuzal's lovers. Going straight to my favorite box to change it into a TREASURE BOX...!

TheUma2000 on Tuesday, April 19, 2011
THANKS for this great treat...!!!
ITS SO HEART TOUCHING INDEED.

V. Siddhartha on Tuesday, April 19, 2011
@sqhzaidi Thanks, Qasim Bhai for the forward. You said it all with
eloquence, and I find myself nodding in full agreement with your words.
Great ghazal masters often adorn their recitals with measured improvs. GA's
improvs are rich yet not ostentatious; they carry a sense of proportion and
equilibrium. Thanks to TheUma2000.

@chamogaa . Thanks to samarjtacharjee for the upload.

ITS a great honor for me to have kind words from a ghuzal lover like you. Hope to share with you more nice master pieces in future. Today, when all the great names are fading out, these kind of videos are just like a source of satisfaction for the ghuzal lovers. I want to write few lines as i feel these Ash'ars suit n match to the recent situation. I just want to dedicate to you, zaidi sir, dr. amjad n all the you tubers who love ghuzals. (contd)

endeavors.

TheUma2000 on Tuesday, April 19, 2011
You have described the ghuzal in a lovely way and i completely agree about it being one of the best ghuzals i have heard. i also appreciate your thanks.

Even though i am good at finding out good poetry, i never heard this ghuzal before. For this reason i would like to thank the uploader of this video. This ghuzal deserves to be a favorite of anyone.

@dramjadparvez @TheUma2000 @chamogaa @sqhzaidi - Great to see all your
discussions. In fact, I uploaded this when I was discussing with some of my
friends about my absolute favorite of Ghulam Ali Sahab's ghazals. The very
best rendition - and this one came to my mind. Glad all of you like it.

TheUma2000 on Thursday, April 21, 2011
I would like to appreciate your acknowledgment. Truly speaking i had never heard about this ghazal before but after listening it i could never get out of its spell.

samarjitacharjee on Thursday, April 21, 2011
Thanks for your comments and keeping this page alive. It keeps one
spellbound, indeed. Did you listen to the 23 minute version of Apni Tasveer
Ko? It's a milestone singing by Ustad Ji, from the same concert. I will
upload it some day.

TheUma2000 on Thursday, April 21, 2011
Your lovely words are memorable for me. Always looking forward for your new uploads. Your good name is being a source to hunt a hidden treasure for me at least.

@maximvic The first stanza is somewhat like this: The apparel of my life is
tattered and torn My freinds/consellors/doctors have deserted me again
There's no sound, neither a sign, nor any oasis How barren lies this desert
of possibility Moments are moving on with the sorrow of time Like a caravan
of mourners..

Satyam Dheeraj on Sunday, November 20, 2011
All right overall. But Chhotu Ghulam Ali continues to fall prey to his
devices. Tried to achieve something at 4:25 and totally goofed up. Perhaps
dear fellow would have done much better if he stuck to the melodiousness of
Tarana's and not worried too much about touching the mystique of Khayal.
Still, certainly a pleasure

samarjitacharjee on Sunday, November 20, 2011
@satyamdheeraj Could not make out what he goofed up around 4:25. And
definitely not in a position to suggest what he should have done. Heavenly
- for us lesser mortals for sure.

samarjitacharjee on Monday, November 21, 2011
@satyamdheeraj I hear you Sir. I would not like to comment on his
deficiencies because I am inept at that task, and my understanding is also
not as accomplmished as yours. But perhaps you could listen to Ustad Barkat
Ali Khan - then you might decide not to use the word 'Sidekick' for him :)

the first time the way word "hawa" was rendered 6:17 - 6:21... Just EPIC!

gulsmithoo on Saturday, April 21, 2012
Though, I have heard a shorter rendition of this exquisite Ghazal, this is the first time I am hearing the longer version. Though, I am not an expert by any means (as others on this post), Khan Saheb is simply superb. I also want to acknowledge the poet Mr. Syed Razi Tirmizi. What a fantastic Ghazal... He has played with words in a such intricate manner. I am just lost with words to express my feelings.

Lastly, I want to thank Mr. Samarjitacharjee for the posting...thank you sir.

Can someone give me a complete explanation of this poetry. Voice and tune is simply superb.

Satyam Dheeraj on Monday, December 03, 2012
I thought I did know a thing or two about Taranas as well, but it seems
from your certitude that I don't. I will learn and try to be better as and
when time permits. In the meantime, my apologies to you. It seemed to my
not-so-trained ears that the 'moving away' had some disconnect, therefore
the expression of disappointment. If you want to say 'don't speak till you
learn enough', well I will defend to death your right to say so.

Satyam Dheeraj on Monday, December 03, 2012
(...contd) On a honest note, I really thought I was connecting very well to
the composition, although I could not understand it was Kirvani-based. So
thank you for letting me know. I will use this information well and listen
to other Kirvani compositions to understand it better. I could not stay
with the variations sometimes and felt that it was a slip-up. May be I
should have expressed in less certain words, so your point is humbly
accepted. Thank you

samarjitacharjee on Monday, December 03, 2012
Dheeraj Ji - thanks for such a dignified reply. The last thing I wish for
in my channel is the needless arguments and fights. Thanks again.
'Bhinnashadaj' Ji - (great choice of username!) thanks for putting your
informative thought here. I also did not know this is a Kirvani based
ghazal. Your slightly offensive tone, however, could have been - in my
humble opinion - done away with. :) We all have our likes and dislikes in
music, there is no absolute. No argument would ever find a conclusion.

Overlooking a few flows here and there in some of his 'masterpieces', G Ali
is certainly great. His singing has reached hearts across the globe. G Ali
is one of those Legends whose melodious voice will remain omnipresent
through time. He is God's gift to ghazal lovers, now and always.

Phani Prasad on Monday, July 01, 2013
i am stunned at your comment literally. When God sings just listen.. Being
a critic is one thing but this is laughable.. I would lik to hear ur
version of 4.25 and so on SIR... !! :)

Satyam Dheeraj on Monday, July 01, 2013
cool reh bhai. don't blabber. if chhotu is "god" to you, i'd suggest you
speak less and listen more. music doesn't end where you think. I would have
explained 4:25 to you but you are too full of your empty self. I don't care
to discuss it with pompous ignorance. stay away from my comment. look for
sheep similar to yourself and bleat.
