@raniisc14 There are still some of us who can summon devas when we sing and
we don't want to win an award to prove ourselves to the world. These vidyas
are not meant for men who cannot understand them. Therefore, we will never
expose our techniques to the asuric civilization of the world because it is
best if they are hidden.

What a song, two of the greatest singers joining together!
[ The legend is that AmirKhnasaheb insisted that DV Paluskar be chosen to sing with him if he has ti sing at all]

Cant compliment Naushad sahab enough for this composition - specially
because he had to compose this to be of a short duration giving enough
singing material to each mastreo and plus keeping the film situation and
its audience in mind!

stunning. Thanks a lot for the upload.

I heard Ustad Amir Khan say in a radio progranmme, shortly before his
tragic death, that it was he who suggested Pandit D V Pulaskar's name to to
sing the Baiju Bawara part. His judgement was marvellous. He could not have
made a better choice.

The contest was decided by the winner taking his voice higher and giving
moorkian at that high range. At 4:24 paluskar tries to take his voice up
but the voice is not strong enough and weakens a little. Again at the end,
paluskar takes the voice up very high and gives the rapid moorkian, but the
voice changes it's haracter and becomes a little shrill. Ustad ameer khan
is not required to take his voice too high as Tansen has to loose. This
absence of very high range in these two great singers m

rapid murkian is very small job in carnatic. you plz hear yesudas' pure classical music..he and balamuralikrishna are the most versatile classical singers now in india

Milahi1935 on Thursday, July 26, 2012
It is not only the rapid moorkian, it is also at how high a range at which
u give those rapid moorkian. The winner of the competition was decided by
the criteria of the highest range and the most rapid moorkian. This is
supposed to be the most difficult part of singing. I have heard yesudas go
up quite high but not as high as noor jahan in "rassilay moray raassia
najaria milaa" in film mousiqar. She was singing raga Aiman for only six
minutes. I have many great singers like barray ghulam Ali kh

It is a Bandeesh in Desi.It is rendered by two great maestros of all times.Just because it is presented as a film song common people were exposed such divine music!

anobhadran on Friday, October 05, 2012
it is not the case the his voice is weakened at that pitch... but rather
that he lowers his volume. many a singer has lost his or her voice after
that pitch with a louder volume I myself have done vocal experiments and
found that out. and yes they are two of the best singers i have ever heard
of from the past.

Milahi1935 on Saturday, October 06, 2012
This is one of the greatest duets of all times. Present day singers should
sing this again and see if they can sing better than these two masters. To
sing this duet nicely, one would have to have great range and the ability
to go up to three and a half or four octaves. High range is a gift that
very very few singers have.

wow! I am familiar with Hindi but what form of Hindi is this? It seems
'mero' and 'mera' are the same.as with 'gaave' and 'gaata and 'paave'
and 'paata'. Is this Awadhi Hindi? I have heard this Hindi in other
bhajans, such as "allah tero naam'. please explain!

I must have heard this jugalbandi hundred times. Every time it grows on you
and you find something new which you missed last time. Amir khan sahib has
sung with subdued sounded paluskat who was recommenced by khan sahib , is
made to sing more powerfully as he was to win. Reality show participants
shoul listen to this and take few lessons. Amir khan sahib lived in Indore
and was flag bearer of Indore gharana. I am from Indore but it's sad those
days music was not so rewarding and khan sahib and

The court musician. ustad Mian Tansen... his part is sung by Amir Khan
Sahib. and pandit D V Paluskar ji sings Baiju Baawra's
portions.Tansen sings to preserve and guard his reputation as the court
singer. Baiju sings to earn some respect in the society and to guard the
reputation of his beloved music. in abstract.. he is called "Baiju the
mad one..." and has nothing to loose and every thing to gain... brilliant
picturisation and great performance of Desi Todi... a morning Raga...
