The western culture is not such an alien concept in urban India. After all,
India has not been insulated from any western influences, trends and
thoughts like China was in the past for example. The English language is a
part and parcel of our lives too. That is just what India is. Rich in its
original language, music, culture and value systems yet open to diverse
influences. Makes us truly unique.

If you want to go on that track then did you know that the legendary Bollywood film, "Sholay" was a copy of a famous Hollywood movie, "Once upon a time in the West"? Starring Henry Fonda and Charles Bronson and released in 1969? Amitabh was copying Charles Bronson. However, let's leave such things aside and enjoy the movie and the music. This film is an adaptation and NOT a copy of the "Sound of Music". May God Bless you all.
