My friend, wats your native language, do u know any other 2 language tat has so many words in commom,
Hindi is based on Sanskrit and Urdu from Persian & Arabic I agree but they sound the same, who speaks sophisticated Urdu and Hindi (I dont), so my friends they are different dialect of same language, I hope I get positive reply.

Dhalpourie on Sunday, February 15, 2009
This one of my favorite songs of all time and I am not Indian. We absolutely adore these movies in the Caribbean and enjoy them in any of your many languages. Why can't you all do the same?

navijatt on Tuesday, February 24, 2009
i think ur half correct...i think urdu and hindi are both dialects of the same language..hindi having sanskriti undertones whilst urdu having more persian undertones.if u wana argue who copied who..well we all know how ancient sanskrit hindi is and urdu only began taking form in the 16th centuary ...peace

I just know that the reason I made this comment was from a linguist's point of view. You can't call two languages with distinct grammars dialects of a same language. Yes they might belong to the same tree of languages called Indo-european language, but dialect is a wrong way of terming them. That was the only point I was trying to make.

living legend amitab in paradise on earth (kashmir) simply great song

spacekangaroo on Wednesday, March 04, 2009
Mr poissondelamer,
You can't appreciate the beauty of any other language because you probably don't speak any other languages. You can hardly put together a sentence in English.

It's not "sansikrat", it's "Sanskrit". Please slow down while you type and learn how to spell.

spacekangaroo on Wednesday, March 04, 2009
"urdu really the best and sweet language
people who dont understand urdu they r not aware of this"

And in the same way, YOU can not appreciate the beauty of all those languages that you do not speak. So please stop being so arrogant.

spacekangaroo on Wednesday, March 04, 2009
faslam: Actually, you need to review your comparative linguistics.

Hindi and Urdu do not have distinctive grammars. Their grammars are virtually identical. Hindi and Urdu are essentially one language descended from Sanskrit, just like their sister Indo-Aryan languages like Punjabi, Gujarati, and Bengali. The difference between Hindi and Urdu is based on different borrowing patterns. Modern Urdu borrows from Arabic/Persian, while Hindi relies on Sanskrit.

However, the distinction between Urdu and Hindi is not a clear, sharp one. The language used in Bollywood songs like this one is common to both Hindi and Urdu.

Urdu may resemble Persian because it has borrowed a lot of VOCABULARY from Persian. However, its underlying GRAMMAR is identical to that of Hindi, and closely parallel to other Indo-Aryan languages. Persian is not an Indo-Aryan language. It belongs to the Iranian branch, and has a very different grammar from Urdu.

men in canada its like living with pandoos (don't take it negative), desi community hardly speak correct urdu/hindi or they speak with funny accent, so I just use english as essential tool for communication.

"Ke jaise tu muje chahegi Umar bhar yuhi
uthegi meri taraf pyaar ki nazar yuhi
Main jaanta hun ke tu gair hai magar yuhi...kabhi kabhi mere dil mein."

monty1511james on Thursday, April 02, 2009
Ur comments on other religions are akin to a cobra's venom, live life the way u want to & let others do theirs, religion is manmade,no point in fighting over something so trivial and yes I was being sarcastic, you havent figured it out by now that shows how dumb u really are!
