Although,I do not understand how Yesudas was only able to sing only a
handful songs in Bollywood.. i just need to say that we missed out on
atleast a few more lifetime classics. Its a pity that a Legend like Yesudas
is past his prime by this time, not because he is 73 Years old now but
because the great music composers and lyricysts are dying off. Somehow i
feel that there would be more chances of my girlfriend being wooed by "Gori
Tera Gaon Bada Pyaara"..than a perhaps a "Shiela ki Jawani"..

What would have happened if YSD was allowed to sing all the songs for the film Bobby?

Yes, there is no point to compare singers. Especially legends like Mohd Rafi and Yesudas.
Some people might not agree, but still I have to tell a truth about Kishore. After singing for Trishul , Amitab recommended Yesudas as his voice in movies. But smart Kishore was so smart that, he used his connections to threaten and bad rumors about Yesudas. After that incident Yesudas didn't take up much Hindi sings, and he insisted to record his hindi songs from Chennai.

It is for not a simple reason Yesudas is called voice of God. SImply
superb. No point in comparing the all time greats, all in their own right
and genre.

@rafikishore100 dear..KJY was invited to Russia in order to spread the
message of peace and harmony...Incidentally they thought that the
internationally accepted devine voice of KJY would be the perfect medicine
to do way the tension of Cold War & he sang a "Russian Song" broadcasted
all over Russia. So apparently the Russians didnt open there hearts and
clearly didnt hear the quotes of Manna Dey!! Helooo..u there..oops
sorry..guess you were sleeping...wake up dude..listen to divinity...!!

ANDROID171816 on Tuesday, March 22, 2011
@rafikishore100 Oops..i was so busy listening to the mezmerizing voice that
i think i forgot to make my point. No one here is trying to say that KJY is
better than Rafi saab or Manna Da or KK,all of them have there own styles,
some hit my ear drum better and others yours. In fact KJY is a huge fan of
Rafi Saab and has sung many of the great songs of Raafi, praising Rafi's
BEAutiful voice. So please think twice before posting sarcastic lines about
legends;you might get some from someone(Guess who??)

ANDROID171816 on Tuesday, March 22, 2011
@rafikishore100 So, cool down..sit back ..relax and enjoy One of the most
mesmerizing Voices of all time. Cheers!!!

ANDROID171816 on Sunday, March 27, 2011
@rafikishore100 dude...i would have thought that a fan of music of Rafi &
KK would have had a bigger heart & aged more than a 15 year old to
understand being a fan of one legend does not always mean that you have to
pull another legend down. I pity you. Do listen to KJY more...his voice
might just make you realize that world of music is not just limited to
Bollywood and who knows..you might once again start eating banana's...mu ha
ha ha ha ha ha(my evil laugh)..grow up already!!!

ANDROID171816 on Sunday, March 27, 2011
@rafikishore100 As far as comparing the legends goes.I would think its
quite natural that we as Indians consider Sachin as God (which he is) & the
benchmark for all comparisons..but my simple reasoning power tell me that
Sachin would be more happy if the same words came from a Pak citizen...or a
British or a Oz.!!KJY has sung 1000's of songs outside his base
language(Malayalam) & incidentally 2 of his 7 National awards are in Hindi
and Telugu. I So I say.."He has been there, done that"!!!

ANDROID171816 on Sunday, March 27, 2011
@rafikishore100 And just to cap it off ..for the records.. his has been
singing for 50 years as of today(Age 21 - 71)..and still his voice is as
fresh and mezmerizing as it was 50 years back. I dont know if you would
understand lyrics..but try youtube for his live songs on stage and listen
to his Voice..I dont think you would change your views but i hope perhaps
you might rate him more than a THIRD RATE CRICKET PLAYER, as you said.

Yashudas always proved to the world, what the world always says, music had
no barriers no boundries and language no race no nothing, music is just
divine, music is worship and prayer to Gods, Music is language of Love ,
Music is Religion, Music is love within itself. Music is the only Universal
Language understood by one and all, even animals are suppose to have
cherrish Music

In those 4 unbeatable songs from Chitchor, Yesudas put the fear of God into
all the Hindi playback singers. There was no way they could match his vocal
quality and technique, and they knew it.

yesudas has won the National Award for the Best Male Playback Singer seven
times, the most by any Indian singer, and the State Award for the Best
Playback Singer more than thirty times by the Governments of Kerala, Tamil
Nadu, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, and West Bengal. In 2002, he was awarded
the Padma Bhushan by the Government of India for his contributions towards
the arts.

Jithin Nambiar on Saturday, July 02, 2011
@rafikishore100 brother, yur comment was funny.. please try to admit that
music is not just what you hear in bollywood...yesudas has sung as many
languages in india as rafi and kk cant dream about..and awarded the
natioalal award 6 times, ( top of the list till the date)..and still in his
great form of singing at his 70 ies...you konw nothing about this great
man..otherwise yu wouldnt utter this kind of a funny statement..

61sachin on Monday, July 04, 2011
awesome song..my all time favourite

Ghulam Mustafa on Tuesday, July 05, 2011
It really transports me to a world of fascination. Wonderful lyrics and
smashing innocence of Zarina turned this song a remarkable performance.
Anybody can enjoy, just put your eyes close and think about the atmosphere
he is describing in his simple words, you cannot be here. Its really
awesome performance.

Lily EvansDoe on Sunday, July 10, 2011
I really like this movie and the songs in it.

Thoma on Wednesday, July 13, 2011
@MrZunnoor . The fact that you think so does not mean that your statement
is true.Do you have any idea in how many languages, how many songs Yesudas
has sung?Do you have any idea about his educational qualification in the
music field especially in Carnatic?Very few singers have had such voice
control like Yesudas.Yesudas is a national phenomenon while Kishore and
Rafi were confined to the north. The problem with people like you is that
you think that all that is India is in the north.

tigerpoosha on Wednesday, July 13, 2011
There is a song which Rafi declined saying that he cant sing it because its too tough. If you listen to it you will understand why.It is the song Shadajne from Tansen. It was no one else but the music director Ravindra Jain who disclosed this in an interview.

ritu dhindsa on Friday, July 15, 2011
Yesudas is a legend. He has not once but many times proved that music has
no language. Any body who loves music will love his voice. God bless him.

Thoma on Sunday, July 17, 2011
@MrZunnoor . A person who loves music..will like all 3 of them.All are
different with their own style.
