Please stop this. I've heard both the Spanish and the English versions of
the song and see nothing that could be considered plagiarism. Please
restrain yourself from throwing about such accusations in such a flippant
manner. We're talking about one of the most talented musicians in Hindi
films.

Well, all I can say is: I think we both have made our points, let
interested surfers come to their own conclusion now. And perhaps it's
needless to get personal.

Even if Himesh spends his entire lifetime, he cannot come up with one song that can match these songs in quality! What is more amazing is to see youngsters gyrating to Rashamaiyya's music (read noise) ?

mehran133 on Sunday, August 24, 2008
it is a copy of song perhaps by doris day

Well, the first recording of this song (quizas, quizas) was done by Tony
Bavaar and Gordon Jenkins in 1949, and released by Decca Records - well
before 'Babuji'. Originally written and composed by Cuban songwriter
Osvaldo Farres - was a hit since 1947. It is possible that OP nayar was
'inspired' by the FIRST recorded version, and not by Nat King Cole, because
Coles recording first appeared in 1958 - 4 years after 'Babuji'. Doris Day
recorded perhaps much later, in 1964.

Unique & forever song sung by late " Geeta Dutt " Thanks very much for
fantastic upload my friend.

The actress is Suraiyya if I'm not wrong. I was not born in that generation
but still love this song.

Joseph C on Saturday, November 08, 2008
OP Nayyar was a "Japanese" kind of music director in those days in that He
was just a copycat copying or stealing wonderfully most of his music from
the western world. And the Madras music directors in turn copied Nayyar.
Thankk God, we now have originals like AR RAHMAN, who can not only compose
ANY KIND OF MUSIC, but singing them inimitably as in Jhodha Akbar

Shakeela. Actually I don't blame you - Shakeela had a striking resemblance
to Suraiyya - except Suraiyya had these enormous eyes.

JoyDevivre on Tuesday, November 18, 2008
You have some nerve to say something like this. OP Nayyar was a wonderfully
talented composer. Go check ITWOFS to see how many of OP's songs are
actually copied - very few. And he had such an innate sense for Indian
classical music - even though he wasn't a trained musician.

sds1943 on Friday, November 21, 2008
Even that was an 'inspired copy'of the original- like this one!

sds1943 on Friday, November 21, 2008
Well said Spanish Caravan. Just a little point though: artists have taken
inspiration from one another. There is nothing wrong with that if they take
permission and acknowledge that. See my comment a couple of years ago.

You're blessed with the gift of discernment.. and you're absolutely right
about the best is from the past. Even A.R. sometimes jars the soul.

NoMiTaStAR on Saturday, March 28, 2009
Is very similiar but not equal.

Beg to differ - neither is it the same arrangement, neither tempo nor
timbre nor even parallels the octaves. Not a copy ... and in english they
translated it to perhaps ... perhaps ... perhaps.

ConfusedSponge on Wednesday, May 06, 2009

If you think Lata Ji's voice is squeeky then u should perhaps listen to
''Mogara Phulala'' by Lata Ji. No offence meant. I respect your opinion.

Looks like Shakeela.

Debabrata Mohanty on Saturday, July 18, 2009
Yes it is Shakeela. Her sister Noor, also an actress, was comedian Johny
Walker's wife.

1954 film no english subs?? Anybody can help

himsingz on Friday, August 28, 2009
lata is overrated. she had an exquisite voice, but could never manage much
intensity of expression. geeta dutt makes every word throb with meaning.
the only other singer who could that was kl saigal.

jayabn on Monday, September 07, 2009
so cuTe song...
