Can anyone tell me if it is possible to forget or get fed up of listening to such music. If I had a genie asking me for 3 wishes I would ask; 1)Give me the gift of singing 2) Let me just listen to music and nothing else

3kdude on Tuesday, February 26, 2008

sreenathmajumder on Tuesday, March 18, 2008
Here this classic song was composed by none other than Shankar Jaikishen.

profitit on Sunday, March 30, 2008
Listening over and over to the eternal spiritual belief that "You are the ocean of love and I thirst for You" makes slogging away during the wee hours bearable. Yes, doonagiri, "if music be the food of love, play on, give me excess of it."

Ab tu hi isse samjha,
Raah bhoole the kahan se hum ...

It is so rare that we get a song with words which have meaning and rhyme perfectly, and when it does, its magic. This song is magic!

The song moves me to tears, and brings us closer to the REALITY !!

Sholay48 on Sunday, July 20, 2008
Very true. Its reality. I'll tell you something jaani27. The 2 songs that came to my mind all the time after the death of my mother were 1. this song and 2nd Hum laye hain toofan se kisti nikaal ke, Is desh ko rakhna mere baccho sambhalke. If this is not reality, then what is? Long live these songs.

ultamash on Monday, August 04, 2008
it means: my tortured/injured soul is desperate to escape the cage/prison of Existance But my wings are soft/unable to carry my load and my eyes are dim (with the material existance ) that have rendered my yearning of escaping material existance all but impossible ...( my soul wants to exit the material abode to be one with the CREATOR but i have no way out of wants and wishes of bodily being )

What a fitting tribute to Shankar-Jaikishan that today many schools use this song as a daily prayer!! Shankar-Jaikishan will always remain the greatest composer duo India has ever produced.

jayzminem on Saturday, October 11, 2008

can someone pl explain me the context of the song/story of movie

sanju219 on Monday, November 10, 2008
u are sea of love,we are thirsty for one drop from u.
if u send us back, then we will leave this world.

1)like an anxious bird my heart is eager to fly,it's feathers are fragile, eyes are bleary.
wants to cross the ocean.
now u only explain him, from where we have lost our path.

2)this side life is joyful,on the other side death is waiting.
nobody knows where is the boundary.the problem has arised.
plz whisper in our ears, the direction from which we should come.

sanju219 on Monday, November 10, 2008
to muktamona
the singer wants to meet god.
1)his heart want to fly to meet god ,but it is fragile and he is doubting that can it pass the great distance.
2)on the way to meet god,the path has two sides.on one side there is life on the other side there is death waitng.he doesnot know the boundary from where life ends and death starts .he is lost and asking god's help to tell the right path to reach him.
my english is poor, but i think u got the point

radartx on Saturday, November 15, 2008
You are right. There is a lot of common feeling in the story, we can all understand it. It is partly Indian and partly global.

Shantiswarupananda on Sunday, November 16, 2008
Quanta dolcezza in questa canzone. Grazie! Thank you

qmsarge on Monday, November 24, 2008
More than the singer, the song is about the small girl. The singer/actor is more worried about his daughter than him. The whole song is pointing towards the small girl.

maalage on Tuesday, November 25, 2008
You never seem to get tired tired of listening songs like these ... so meaningful and soothing to listen to ... alas they are far and few between, I could count such gems on my fingers ...

rahdisas on Saturday, December 20, 2008
I don't think ANYONE - not Rafi, not Mukesh, not Kishore - could make a song seem as effortless as Manna Dey. The control he had over his voice - is simply exemplary.

Of course, the other three IMO had their own strengths, but the ease with which MD sings is amazing.

rahdisas on Saturday, December 20, 2008
It's more to do with the beautifully sung song - it's a very soothing melody - one of Manna Dey's best. I'm an atheist too - and I like this song.

atulkd on Wednesday, December 24, 2008
A beautiful song. One of those songs, that couldn't have been better sung, better composed or better choreographed. Perfect!
