Rare one indeed. Probably not heard for 40 yrs. Marvelous composition sung
in Rafi's classic style. Thanks.

What a classic romantic song ! Only Rafi Saab can sing so beautifully. Thanks a lot for uploading this gem.

This song has two meanings, [methinks]:
The literal meaning (1) is almost opposite to the way it has been filmed
(2)!
(1) "Your hair is harassed, your gaze anxious, I am afraid this may be love
for [my] fortunate enemy!"
(2) "Your twisted tassles, your gaze furtive, if this isn't love (for me),
then oh! how I curse my luck - my enemy"
There is 'no' on your lips, but beware! o darling, the thing they call gaze
is very deceptive (& revealing!), which might unknowingly just say 'yes'
(to our love), oh my ... [rotten] luck! --1
You step somewhere, but you go somewhere else, this condition must have
some reason, o beauty, who might be the guest in your heart? (let it be
me!) oh my [wretched] luck! --2
Is that killer gaze (for me)? Is that heart yearning (for me)? And who is
the (lucky) guy slaughtered by these indulgences (let it be me, let it be
me!)
Isn't that me?! Oh my [enemy] luck!
[he is cursing his luck almost to tempt fate, he doesn't really mean it...!]
This is one of the highest quality of Ghazals by Qamar Jalalabadi composed
by Kalyanji Anandji...

[REVISED & "Oxfordized"!]
This song has two meanings:
The ‘mukhda’ (title) has a meaning (1) opposite to the ‘antara’s
(stanzas)(2)

(1) "Your hair is harassed, your gaze anxious, I am afraid they betray your
love for a fortunate enemy!"

The literal meaning (above) is almost opposite to the way this song has
been filmed (2):

(2) "Your twisted tassles, your gaze furtive, if this isn't love (for me),
then oh! how I curse my misfortune"

There is 'no' on your lips, but beware! o darling, the thing they call gaze
is very deceptive (& revealing!), which would not declare ‘yes’ [your
acceptance of our love] in public !
Unlucky me!! Oh my ... [rotten] luck! --1

You step somewhere, but you go somewhere else, this condition must have
some reason,
It doesn’t just happen, O beauty! I am afraid there may be some secret
guest in your heart!
(please let it be me!) Is there somebody else?! oh no! my [wretched] luck!
--2

Wouldn’t that killer gaze (target me)? Won’t that heart yearning (for me)?
And what is THAT trapped in the web of lashes in your downward gaze? (Won’t
it be my heart!?)

(a) And who would be the (lucky) guy slaughtered by these indulgences?!
(it must be me…, oh! let it be me! Oh my [enemy] luck! – 3
[he is cursing his luck almost to tempt fate, he doesn't really mean it...!]

(b) And who is the victim slaughtered by these indulgences?!
Oh fate! I’m dead (before I fulfil my desre of love), what terrible luck!
-- 3
