Raj Desai on Saturday, July 28, 2012
The beginning part is in Sanskrit as follows: kasturi tilakam lalaata
patale (The tilak (a mark worn on the forehead) of Sandalwood has been worn
on your forehead) vakshasthale kaustubham (Kustubh (a jewel of Vishnu) is
put on your chest) nasaagre navamouktikam (The ornament nine Pearls on the
nose) karatale venum kare kankanam (Flute in your palm, Bracelet on your
wrist) sarvaange harichandanam su lalitam (Your body is covered with
Sandalwood and is fragrant) (1/n)

Raj Desai on Saturday, July 28, 2012
kanthe cha muktaavali (On your Neck is the Muktavaali (another ornament of
Vishnu)) gopastree pariveshtitho (You are the giver of Mukti (salvation) to
the lady-cowherds who went rounds and rounds around You) vijayate gopaala
choodamanee (Oh that Lord, Victory to You -The Ornament to the ornaments of
cowherd (meaning, the commonest of the common man too has his wealth in
Him) !) This Sanskrit verse is describing the beauty of Krishna/Vishnu and
his nature (2/n)

Raj Desai on Saturday, July 28, 2012
Next lines repeated in different order are in Chaste Hindi: Nadiya Bair
Bhayi re : (The river has become our enemy. (Implies the distance between 2
lovers is the river as they are on opposite sides)) Mora Saiyaan Bulaave :
My lover calls me Sune naahi : Does not listen (My lover does not listen
and calls me) (3/n)

Raj Desai on Saturday, July 28, 2012
Kasturi: Musk and not Sandalwood. Sorry for the mistake :)

Can't stop myself listening to it again.

shanalt on Sunday, July 29, 2012
On the contrary, if u haven't seen the video then its hard to recon whether
its the blonde or the black p.s no racial pun intended only talkin about
hair colorsss...;)

getusoon on Sunday, July 29, 2012
Excellent work and hats off to Nicki Wells. I guess she could give our
Shubha Mudgals a run for their money anyday. However, Ashwini Srinivasan is
a good flutist but a rather "dead" lead (or supporting) vocalist. Sawhney
would do better to have more flute and get another male lead.

brahmabul on Sunday, July 29, 2012
Heard Nicki Wells for the first time. She's got a great voice. But I could
not understand a thing in the song. Really can't understand why MTV doesn't
post the meaning of the lyrics. Its very frustrating and disappointing.

gtrmajor on Sunday, July 29, 2012
I just played the video without watching it, I thought it was an Indian
lady singing, then I watch the video - DAMN!

gtrmajor on Sunday, July 29, 2012
The bassist is a kid and still she plays like a pro. Kickass!.

maharishi13 on Monday, July 30, 2012
I understad the vocalist is foreigner...but the Sanskrit pronunciation is
messed up. Otherwise a great song!

nishant kumar on Wednesday, August 01, 2012
This is one'o'those songs thats difficult to play !!! and seemingly
difficult to fit the singing on the melody of the songs! THANK YOU! would
watch out for more "krishna songs" now

Parth Yadav on Wednesday, August 01, 2012

FillUpMySenses on Friday, August 03, 2012
You people should promote your singers and culture

swathinath vijayan on Sunday, August 05, 2012
I think the original one is a lot better...especially the male voice is not
good.

TheSuzet13 on Monday, August 13, 2012
Also Listen to shrutibox version .

TheSuzet13 on Monday, August 13, 2012
Nice effort by the singer

Pratik Varma on Tuesday, August 14, 2012
Nitin Sawhney's drum n bass lines are insane. There is no instant
gratification in his music.

Jesse Pinkman on Wednesday, August 29, 2012
I WANNA MARRY THE BASS GUITARIST. SO DOPE!

Jesse Pinkman on Wednesday, August 29, 2012

Amazing!!! It's great song.

Abhi Desai on Sunday, October 28, 2012
I am a fan of coke studio... but for the first time, I think that this is
fake. at 6.34, she has her both hands off the mic. And the next moment,
only the camera has changed, but this time her right hand is on the mic.
Can't find how this is possible...

Nina.A on Monday, October 29, 2012
I agree, she's simply awesome. However, it's not uncommon for a non-native
to sing in Hindi/Sanskrit. I was at a music festival the other week and
there was an Austrian chap singing in sanskrit. He was amazing too!

Ashish Sawant on Wednesday, October 31, 2012
Basically for video purpose, you shot the same song twice.. so editor get
more choice of shots.. trust me it is original.. and btw i am not
associated to Coke Studo @ Mtv 2 If you found that mistake, then editor is
at fault and music producer or singer.

Abhi Desai on Friday, November 02, 2012
yeah.. that may be the case... :) thanks...

Arjun Kapur on Thursday, November 08, 2012
Love.it..

Aleksey Yarosh on Friday, November 16, 2012
Nicki is from Gr.Brit.

Gowtham Mohan on Saturday, November 17, 2012
so I minimized utube and was doing my own work, when I took a break and
took my coffee and maximized utube and saw a white chick singing a sanskrit
song. I literally spit out my coffee...she sang sooo well I thought she was
professional indian karnatik singer. Hats off white chick
