Even after fifty odd years, I still keep listening to this song. What a
mellifluous voice of Lata Mangeshkar. I am being enthralled and switched
over to my childhood period. Those were the gorgeous days of peace and
affection among every body. An undoubtedly glorious and unforgettable era,

very careful listeners and observers will notice that C Ramchandra had
always something unique which was different from the other composers !! CR
was a genius par excellence an his association with Lata, both musical an
personal, was unique !!

Even after 62 years, this song is so refreshing. I used to listen to the
instrumental version of this song in radio, before the news, as an
adjustment of time. CR deserves a dozen Oscar, Grammy and all awards.

Annasaheb as most respectfully addressed by the filmworld..was associated
with Lata from 1947 to 1967 the last one in Payalki jhankar ( pl correct
me)..The association faded and died in the late 60s...the intimate
relationship died and later bore hatred...Anna lost interest in the
filmworld.. Datta Davjekar his righthand music maestro too abandoned
him..the rift between the producers and Anna widened...what a tragic end to
the melody !

This song stirs my innermost emotions whenever I remember it.Who can forget
the "Hamesha Jawaan" programme broadcast every Sunday 10 to11 pm over the
then Radio Ceylon, for which this enthralling song was the signature tune
for ages! I yearned to lock myself up, giving a go-by to every other
activity I had to perform, and experience, uninterrupted, those most
glorious moments of pleasure that I wished would remain forever. Every
Sunday was followed by a Monday-the wait continued till the next

Without taking anything away from Madhubala, who is the very pretty actress
in the background of the featured video?

Same here, even after 50 years, I still like this song and it still moves
me; superbly sung by Lataji.

Dilip Gupte on Monday, June 25, 2012
Perfect combination of words, music and voice. Lata Mangeshkar and C
Ramchandra have given so many sweet songs. The film was a dud but the music
is still haunting us. Can today's so called music directors compose any
tune near to this?"

Janardan Mali on Tuesday, October 09, 2012
Most refreshing.Invoked my childhood memories.haunting tunes .Haunting even
after 62 years. Ever eager to listen to this song.

Very sad indeed.

What a great song! Another master piece from the team of CR-Lata...No other
music director-singer team came up with such out of the world, heart
rending melodies like these two did. If Lata is an angel, it was C
Ramachandra who brought out that angel in her the best. And I can't really
understand why as many as 8 people ( as of today) would dislike a song like
this. Are they for real?

Arun Gan on Friday, January 11, 2013
most heart warming song. And the loveliest music. God love CR.

Devanad.. The most suited pair.. Treat to watch them .. Nice lyrics..
sounds good...

This song is very emotional as well as beautiful song rendered by Lataji,
and unforgettable music of C. Ramchandra. I like this song but some how the
movie was super flop. It also said for this movie that once this memorable
song is over, all the people from audience left the theater. They just
wanted to see this song only. (Of course this movie was released much
earlier than I was born).
