Energetic song

mundadesi2004 on Friday, September 05, 2008
considering its from late 70's . sippy did show style . I'm still at a loss
to understand how come this movie flopped, with star cast , songs , visuals
its better then a lot of so celled hit movies that came after it , i saw
the movie other day and I'm sure if the movie is cleaned up and released
with a hi def print would do a lot more business than many current movies

One of the finest James Bond style movies ever made in India. Excellent star cast..especally the Dashing Amitabh Bachchan looking superb being the most handsome guy in the town when the movie got released.

sanjitas on Saturday, November 15, 2008
After giving block buster Sholay, Sippi wanted to give a new kind of multi
starrer movie and after making tobaco chewing Gabbar Singh he made a clean
saved posh villain Shahkaal. Title song gets magnetic touch of Usha Uthup's
voice.

Rishi Gajria on Saturday, November 15, 2008
Sadly, the film didn't do as well as it should have. It was a well made
adventure pot boiler. Nice background score and a couple of good songs too.

Quack Shaikh on Tuesday, December 16, 2008
this rocks!!!

ShrinkLady2004 on Thursday, January 22, 2009
The film flopped because it was designed for a western audience. However,
the film was released when the video boom had started and subsequently
there were few theaters playing Indian films with even fewer people wanting
to attend. The audience in India was not sophisticated enough for such a
film. Had it been released today, it would have been successful both at
home and abroad - with a bit of improvement on the storyline - it was a tad
bit unoriginal

Sakya Nitin on Wednesday, March 11, 2009
The filmed flopped b'coz sippy wanted to make a better film than Sholay. He
went to draw an elephant and ended up drawing a mouse.

ShrinkLady2004 on Thursday, March 12, 2009
Did he tell you that personally?

Sakya Nitin on Thursday, March 12, 2009
He had admitted during an interview to Doordarshan. BTW you must be an
Indian..

thewatermelonfan on Tuesday, December 01, 2009
LOL this is a blatant rip off of james bond!!!

akhiltanwar on Wednesday, December 02, 2009

Yaseen on Wednesday, May 12, 2010

awesome music and action, super thrilling sequences and fantastic
shaakal, mazhar khan. movie was much ahead of its time. i still dont

bregoji on Friday, September 17, 2010

Pancham da was a true Maestro of Indian film cinema . Such a talented music director which i think no one is near him in todays time nor anyone can be

Chanchal Das on Tuesday, January 11, 2011
She is Katy Mirza, playboy bunny of late 70's

Chanchal Das on Sunday, February 27, 2011
Indian audience was not prepared to watch such kind of western movie.
Otherwise it was truly a great movie

sagszahara on Thursday, March 31, 2011
@mundadesi2004 I guess it was way too ahead of it's time...

aarhaan1 on Wednesday, April 20, 2011

Abhishu Mukherjee on Thursday, September 15, 2011
Yes i do agree this movie was far ahead of its time, thus it flopped.its
a superb movie. I'm sure it would have been a Blockbuster Movie had it
released now...

I just wanted to say that, this title song is not complete. I know from the
original movie how the title song goes and this is not the first time that
I'm discovering that they have cut a peace of the title song, and why they
cut that peace... I don't know.

H.S. Dhingra on Saturday, June 23, 2012
I agree with you if Movie Released again Do good business than other movies

Aamir Mirza on Monday, July 02, 2012
IT did not flop ,( still made a lot of money ) how every one what thinking
another Sholay

bollywood631 on Monday, August 20, 2012
Sippys are the best filmakers in India. From Sholay Shakti Shaan to Aatish
Bluffmaster. They rock. Makes the best stylish movies. Sippys, Rajiv Rai,
Feroz Khan the best and the movie Shaan is a declared BLOCKBUSTER. Its a
flop in the sense that everyone was expecting it to be another Sholay since
it was the next release of sippy bachchan combo after sholay.

bollywood631 on Monday, August 20, 2012
one of the best movie ever made in Indian Cinema

Debashish Hota on Thursday, August 23, 2012
this movie never flopped ir was a hit

Babloo Prasad on Sunday, September 02, 2012
100 % right! Im guessing all the audience of 1980 was doing was comparing
this to Ramesh sippys earlier SHOLAY and its villain GABBAR SINGH. Other
wise this film wouldve rocked the universe!

rajiv sharma on Sunday, September 30, 2012
shaan jaisi shandar casting kisi film ki nahi

sbajpai2010 on Tuesday, October 02, 2012
this is copied from old Bond credits!! its good but not original, i came
here for the song.

Ajay singh on Saturday, October 06, 2012
Nothing wrong with the movie. But since viewers had very high expectations
and comparing this movie to/from the benchmark set by this production house
with 'Sholay', which i think was/is not fair.

ujwal godbole on Tuesday, October 23, 2012
is movie ka production cost jada tha.aur ummid bhi jyada thi isliye jab
final akdevari nikali gayi to ye apne budget ko cross nahi kar
saki..isliye tread panditone ise flop karar diya..lekin box office
report kahata hai ye us sal ki 5 vi sabse jyada business karnevali movie
thi..

ashatut on Sunday, December 23, 2012
I clearly remember Usha Utthup became a sensation and everyone wanted to sing in her voice.

Rajgopal Dravid on Friday, January 04, 2013
this is very symphonic title theme song. it has most desirable impact of
the film package

9fairytales on Thursday, April 25, 2013
just that it dint have a great story line..not much impact - modern story
line in the late 70's they dint want this then

Mohankumar Kadambanad on Thursday, October 10, 2013
is this sung usha uthup ?

Elric Stormbringer on Saturday, April 19, 2014
Katy Mirza FTW

subrata ghosh on Tuesday, October 28, 2014
great RD Burman

Haroon Rafiq on Sunday, October 11, 2015
the opening titles is inspired by bond movies

Haroon Rafiq on Tuesday, October 13, 2015
i think i like this more than sholay

Mak Vegan Krantisanga on Friday, November 06, 2015
as far as I know. The film was a hit. Just not as big as Sholay. For this
film is amazing with just one flaw. The song 'jaanu meri jaan' was terribly
misplaced in the movie. When 2 of the main characters have lost their
brother at the hands of a crazy international criminal and then they are
singing a song in a bus lol. it shouldve been placed before the death scene

zuber khan on Saturday, November 28, 2015
yes its copied from bond movie but its one of the best title song of hindi
movie and the credit also goes to our queen the best USHA
