Absolutely love this arrangement of a classic song. Monali's voice is
amazing and has a true classic feel and texture to it. Absolutely mind
blowing.

Anshuman Biswas on Sunday, August 12, 2012
This has to be among the top 5 Coke Studio Tracks.. not only is this track
beautifully arranged.. Monali blows the song to bits.. her tonal control
and pitch/scale are out of this world !!

Jitendra Kumar on Sunday, August 12, 2012

Just beautiful!

Sakshi Sharda on Sunday, August 12, 2012
Wow! Beautiful interpretation of the classic Dil Cheez Kya Hai. An elegant
disciplined first movement that flows into boundless freedom and back. This
composition is the musical equivalent of flying a kite! :) :)

Avik Ganguli on Sunday, August 12, 2012
with due respects, this sounds almost un-musical.It feels as if it was all
organised in a hurry

pallav joshi on Monday, August 13, 2012
very well sung Monali , but please work upon the pronunciation . It's not
अप ,it's आप :)

Harsh Shah on Monday, August 13, 2012

Amit Khosla on Monday, August 13, 2012

avinashr77 on Monday, August 13, 2012
Awful rendition of a classic! As someone said no expression what so ever!

abhishek singh on Monday, August 13, 2012
dimag ki maa ki aankh kar di bhai sahab. bakwas is too mild a term for this
nonsense

Anupam Choudhari on Tuesday, August 14, 2012
Don't think I have ever seen anyone playing the Tabla standing. Karsh Kale
surely knows how to do things differently.

Jitendra Patel on Tuesday, August 14, 2012
Nice work.

brahmabul on Tuesday, August 14, 2012
Superb yaar. Full points to Monali. The voice modulations were not easy.
One needs to hear this as a new song with no comparison being made with the
original.

abhishek attri on Wednesday, August 15, 2012
Best remix ever!!! You have induced life in the song .amazing work

Koushik Rane on Wednesday, August 15, 2012
She has sung it so beautifully! Some musically uneducated and soulless
people out of utter frustration can only comment negative on dis
track...she is one of the best voices I have heard...n probably the best
voice amongst the rest of the new generation female artists! Guys be honest
to yourselves..! Good job Karsh Kale!

Sandeep sahu on Wednesday, August 15, 2012
Monali.woww.she sounds like a goddess..!! God bless
you...never heard a voice like that before. made my day...!

Ravi Chhabra on Wednesday, August 15, 2012
Looser since you don't find one of the finest compositions of Khayyam Sahab
a good composition and find this outstanding singer to be a degraded
singer, I think u should go back to the planet you belong to because Earth
is definitely not the place. Get your basic English correct "dint expected"
and then comment on anything else, specially when it comes to such
brilliant performances. Shameless!!

jagga007 on Friday, August 17, 2012
English part is killer but lot of probs in dil cheez kya hai... the way she
pronounces anjuman is awefull, But musicians played a great role specially
sarangi and tabla.

valent pawar on Friday, August 17, 2012

Rahul Patil on Wednesday, August 29, 2012
It's time for a change. Replace all Bollywood music directors (except
magicians like ARR) with Karsh Kale, Shankar Tucker!!!!

james20030 on Wednesday, August 29, 2012
Asha ji's voice is way too set in my mind to enjoy this song in any other
voice, but she has done a decent job I think...

Pratik Varma on Thursday, August 30, 2012
I heard this song many times considering the lineage of the original. My
opinions changed from being dismissive at first to respect for the singer
to frustration at the producers for keeping the vocals a bit muted (compare
to Shilpa's volume in Hallelujah).

MrMalangii on Thursday, September 06, 2012
I can feel goosebumps as the song progresses.

Amogha Dalvi on Saturday, September 08, 2012
The song talks about a feeling that people experience universally. Love.
Monali Thankur thankyou for the beautifully conveying that. Thankyou Karsh
Kale.

KARSH KALE on Monday, September 10, 2012
the only thing that is cheap is your lame comment.WHat artsits charge is
none of yours or anyone elses business..These are musicians being
musicians...A rare thing to see on Indian TV...

samajder4u on Monday, September 10, 2012
Music has no country, no language, no religion...so stop fighting...and
enjoy this beautiful rendition of this awesome song...Monali is
outstanding...

Japneet Singh on Saturday, September 22, 2012
wow Monali, what a voice you have. You sung different genres very
seamlessly.

Mudra Kumar on Wednesday, September 26, 2012
If this isnt music...then what is my friend?? goosebumps on every second of
the song...just brilliant...karsh kale's tabla was mind-blowing...just the
perfection you need for fusion...and monali thakur's shift from classical
to western just killed it.what an impeccable piece of music!! :D

Vijayavargiya Anshuman on Saturday, October 06, 2012
very badly sung.

rshcam on Monday, October 08, 2012
Good attempt by Monali considering that it is a difficult song to sing.
Composition was ok, could have been better. Or maybe it is just the song -
hard to forget the original and any variations will never impress you.

innotech001 on Friday, October 12, 2012
The main problem lies with the speed & arrangement. The song was made for a
courtesan in the movie - therefore you can find a lazy, flirty and sensual
vibe throughout in Ashaji's version - . It was never about the gamakams.
Here Karsh Kale increased the tala (Speed) hence the singer has no room for
relaxed singing, which was essential for the lyrics. Monali is a great
singer, but she struggles to keep up with the pace - when u remix u've to
ensure u don't lose the soul of the composition!

Koushik Rane on Thursday, October 18, 2012
"NASAL" n "MORE CLASSICAL REQUIRED"..seriously what is wrong with you?

Rayhana Sultan on Friday, October 19, 2012
4:10 ... high point :)

Rayhana Sultan on Sunday, October 21, 2012
You wouldn't say this if you could sing any better. Intellectual criticism
is a good characteristic of human being, baseless criticism is just the
opposite. Pardon I'm no musical guru, but as long as I have the ear to
perceive good music, I have the right express my views and criticism just
as equally as you have the right to criticize :)
