GREAT! Thanks much Suhaneeji for this U/L. I was missing this very much. An
excellent composition by Laxmikant/Pyarelal and superb singing by Lata.
Thanks again.

Gr8 song. Thanx.

THanks for the upload. I had been searching for this song for quite a
while. Lata Mangeshkar's voice is really perfect (like in her prime/peak).
She has retained the sweetness until the late 70s (even though she has
contributed much longer than that). This song is absolutely beautiful and
well sung.

Balraj Sahni looks somewhat young in this movie. He was one of the earlier
actors, quite handsome, Oxford educated highly accomplished with
extraordinary talent. The children dancing spontaneously to the above song
look quite adorable as well.

LP and Lata M. are responsible for some of the greatest songs the in history of the Indian Cinema. This is a prime example. My only problem with the divine Miss M. is that she seems to have a fallout with people at will (i.e. problems with LP and Mohammed Rafi). I was wondering if the woman with such a heavenly voice is a bit of an arrogant individual. Can someone shed light on this? Also, does anyone know the name of the actress that sings the song in the movie? Thanks.

Dear Suhaneeji The actress singing is Ameeta. Tabla player is famous
comedian Jagdeep and young girl is Farida Jalal who was famous as baby
Farida as child artist. Dad is actor David. I don't know what does LP stand
for Mohd. Rafi was the gentlest soul on this earth and is my favorite but I
don't know who LP is. Thanks for beautiful upload. Pinky

@thecrucifer Lata was a singer par excellence. But she is equally known for back-stabbing & mean politics. She refused to sing for: C. Ramchandra, Shanker-Jaikishen, SD Burman, Rafi & L-P! OP Nayyar handled this situation by NOT giving 1 song to her! She used all her connections to exclude the Geeta Dutt song Aa Jaan-e-Wafaa from all EP/LP/CD releases of Anarkali songs! When Lata found out that Mubarak Begum was in financial hardship the crorepatni sent a check for Rs50/-! Ask me more specifics!

thecrucifer on Monday, April 12, 2010
LP must be the music director(s) Laxmicant/Pyarelal.

thecrucifer on Monday, April 12, 2010
@nickkohri Thanks for that information. Much appreciated. Yes, I have read about some of the things you have described. What specifics can you offer? Thanks.

@wyknip All the actors identified by by you are correct except for Farida.
Even I always had this confusion for long but later I found that Baby
Farida (in this song) and actress popular as Farida Jalal are different
persons. It is ironical that both of them started their career around 1960
earlies, Even Farida Jalal was credited as "baby Farida" in someinitial
movies and sometimes actual baby Farida as "Farida". But both are different
persons. Baby farida did some 23 and Jalal <130 movies

This is the kind of stuff of which indelible family memories are made.--a
multi-generational get-together in which everyone is partaking of a clean ,
wholesome, sweet form of entertainment, which at the same time is an
expression of spiritual devotion as well. Yet it is Sacredness Light, kept
so by the playfulness of children and the relaxed gestures, glances and
nudges of adults. Thanks, Yuan and Suhanee.

Good song thanks for the upload

@nickkhori: That Lataji was mean is a myth spread by those who did not like
a simple Marathi girl ruling the world of playback singing. Had she really
been mean Suman Kalyanpur, her contemporary, would have been nowhere. Yes,
she had her preferences, like not singing for C Ramchandra, but does it
make aperson mean? I think we should be very careful when we throw mud on
Sun. It eventually falls on us. Lataji ko Lataji hi rehne do aur koi naam
na do.
