As they say ignorance is bliss , rightfully! If one is not exposed to
various vices found in life then everything looks fine, but those who have
seen it can tell the difference straightaway. Poor direction, real freinds
even in India do not show affection this way.Poor poor direction and
enactment.

Rafi is good in certain songs but when I don't want to fall asleep during a
movie, I watch one where Kishore Kumar is the playback singer because he
lights up any movie no matter how boring the story line is. Kishore is GOD
in music.

both r best on there places. don't get pannic

shaann11 on Wednesday, December 02, 2009
listen, u seen old sholay and the new?ok take take this into consideration certain roles suit certain people, for example amitabh is a superstar but yet could not do any justice to the role of gabbar singh, n amjad khan is not a superstar but yet played an outstanding gabbar in the old sholay, what does dat show?it shows that yes some songs suited kishore better than rafi, and dont forget rafi sahib has even sung for kishore when he used to act..

shaann11 on Wednesday, December 02, 2009
aur bhaiyya theyl never find second rafi...

bandaal1 on Thursday, December 03, 2009
to just name, first you say that you raam, shankar, are your gods! and
other thing is that rafi died of heart attack soon after he came to know
that his songs in movies that he sang for are flopping down as compare to
that kishore sang to the movies. this truth rafi couldnt bear and
eventually died of heart attack. but kishore till his death there was none
to challenge him and every body knows that.

jaygcin on Friday, December 04, 2009
Please don't compare the two great singers - they had quite different
styles of singing. Mohammed Rafi had the classical touch, whereas Kishore
Kumar was more versatile.

prathalye on Sunday, December 13, 2009
Guys dont fight... Its a fact that we wont get another rafi... also we wont
get another kishore.. So enjoy both of the legends instead of comparision..
they are our twin tower stars which can be seen from anywhere

sahil908 on Tuesday, December 15, 2009
Kishore da was not a trained singer. Among other things he tried (like acting), he also tried singing. Although he was already singing for 15 yrs, he got his big break (with Aradhna?) when Mohd. Rafi took sabbatical to go to Hajj. People actually recognized him after this movie. After Rafi Sahab's return, Kishore da was still around, he was now successful as a singer but he was never the best with Rafi Sahab around. Kishore da was mediocre at best, never the best at any of the things he tried!

sahil908 on Tuesday, December 15, 2009
Mohd. Rafi on the other hand, was well trained singer and a very versatile singer. I dunno where some ignorant people got this idea that he was not a versatile singer. If you are talking about an overall singer, then Mohd. Rafi is the best to date! And this has nothing to do with religion. With some research, you will realize this is the fact! You should really listen to Rafi Sahab's songs before you comment! Thank you very much.

all of u here, rafisaab and kishoreda are 2 reincarnations of male playback singing, one trained and versatile, other natural and flowing, rafisaabs voice was very sweet and melodious, kishoreda, had a base and manly overtones, which no other singer had or has, rafisaab dominated from 1950 -1970, but it was all kishore from 1970 till dada passed away in 1987, and rafisaab just cudnt catch up with kishoreda thereafter, though in that period, he sang equal no of songs and many of them superhits

MyAfghan4321 on Friday, January 01, 2010
i love rafi saab ka voice

naumanjanjua12 on Saturday, January 16, 2010
@milinddabke Not true. It is true there was less demand for Rafi from roughly 1970-1975. However, his superb comeback as the voice of Rishi Kapoor proved he was back in business, and after that, it was a neck to neck race between the two. Kishore was lucky that Rafi saab passed away in 1980

milinddabke on Saturday, January 16, 2010
sir, i have very high regards for rafisaab, LP a strong rafi proponent, got rafisaab singing 4 rishi in sargam, amar akbr, was gud, but all said, kishore sang 4 rishi in all the fims where rafisab just had a solitary song and rest all was kishoreda, aapke deewane, karz, badaltey rishte, doosra aadmi, phoolkhile, gulshan, duniya meri jeb mein, anjane mein, sir, rafisaab did make a comebck, but kishoreda was miles ahead by that time, and finaly no 1 was lucky and all unlucky when we lost rafisaab

naumanjanjua12 on Sunday, January 17, 2010
@milinddabke just not true. You forget movies like Hum kisise kam naheen, Laila Majnu for your own convenience, which both were superhits. You talk about Karz. The song that caused mass-hysteria from the movie was not a kishore song, but dard-e-dil.

milinddabke on Monday, January 18, 2010
sir ur info is partialy incorrct, in hum kisise, othr than qawwli, rafisaab sang 4 tariq kishoreda 4 rishi, sir plz dont 4get that binaca hit and nation wide rage was om shanti om, though personaly i feel dard e dil is the best of the film, sir rafisaab is a legend and versatile, but let us pl accept kishoreda with his base and natural genius surpased the great mohd rafi, and witnes this in their duets whether aapke dewane deedar e yaar, yadon ki barat, muqqadar, kasme wade, badalte rishte etc

naumanjanjua12 on Monday, February 01, 2010
@milinddabke You have too look which songs shaped rishis career. Pardah Hai Pardah from AAA. HKKN from HKKN. The superhit soundtrack from Laila Majnu and Sargam. Altough I agree Kishore sang more for Rishi, I do believe that was a collission of factors. As for their duets, it is your interpretation of who surpassed who. It was Rafi who was voted singer of the millennium, not Kishore.

Nadeem Ahmad on Thursday, March 04, 2010
dear frnd, rafi was once again got his no. 1 playback seat in 1977. just
check wikipedia page of the hum kisi se kum nahi...he recorded more no. of
songs in his last days than kk. he was leading singer in all mega budget or
multistarrer movies like amar akber anthony, naseeb ,shaan, the burning
train, jani dushman etc. even r.d.burman used him very frequently after the
success of hkskn

pradipmder00 on Monday, May 24, 2010
In this song the great kishore da out class monotonous rafi.rafi can be
reborn in 50yrs...but legend Kishore da wont even in 1000 yrs..long live
kishore da...u are in our hearts

prankster on Sunday, June 20, 2010
@bandaal1 yeh truth should be accepted but my friend you r not accepting
it. The Golden era of Indian Cinema is 50s and 60s in which Rafi was ruling
the male playback while Lata was ruling the female playbck. He could sing a
song very easily if it was of high pitch or lower. If some one really was
in competition that was Talat mehmood not kishore. Kishore was only
dominated in 70s and 80 and in 80 rafi was passed away.

vakkey on Thursday, June 24, 2010
janab mohd rafi sahab was selected as singer of last century by lyricists and playback singers. the debate as to who was the best singer, i hope, should end here.

best1212121 on Tuesday, July 06, 2010
@pradipmder00 people like you always judge mohd rafi by movies of year 1970
to 1975. In the beginning of 1971 the legendary composer jaikishan ji
passed away who made mohd rafi sing some songs that kishore cant even come
close to. from 1970 rd burman made kishore play most of his songs as no
good competition around they were easily able get to the top. if shankar
jaikishan and mohd rafi would still have been working together i am sure
you would have liked them more.

best1212121 on Tuesday, July 06, 2010
@milinddabke then compared to all the songs rafi sang in 1960s he was way
further than kishore

abid malik on Tuesday, July 13, 2010
1 lakh kishore kumars can,t beat one mohammad rafi...rafi sahab is
undisputed king of all singers of the world...even a child can tell the
difference between rafi and kishore,s voice ...rafi sahab is best and noone
singer will ever come close to rafi sahab...
